Given the circumstances....hell, you could line up this year and suck and claim given the circumstances you did well.

RT is going to be an issue until they find someone who can play this year.

It was well documented that the lockout would negatively affect rookies in particular and especially those teams with new coaches installing new systems. Bell didn't even get to work with the 1s in training camp.

Now you are voiding any credibility you have just to win an argument where you have no leg to stand on.

So they were guys who had to develop for years....not thrown into starting roles to get franchise QBs hurt when they couldn't cut it early on?????? ? ?

?

??

? ?

I didn't realize Newton got hurt last year. I must have missed that. Another one of your wild exaggerations in a vain attempt to make a point

Go back and watch the magic Cam displayed as Bell whiffed....or watch Bell commit penalties to avoid someone easily beating him. That type of play is what gets QBs hurt.

All your focus is on Bell being a rookie....and totally downplaying his lack of talent/ability (justifying the poor play as lack of time with the team). Even Bell was about to give up on getting on a roster as a scrub. He was undrafted for a reason....a TC isnt going to magically make him starting material in 2012

This is why Bruce will acually get some coaching and eventually play RT for us. Bell is my friend on xbox and all but theres a reason he was undrafted. RT is RT. Its not like reciever or something where the coach doesnt use you like they should have and you could be a sleeper. But at tackle, if you get your ass beat, YOU GET YOUR ASS BEAT. dont get me wrong Bell held his own pretty good for a rookie, but do you really trust an UDFA with your franchise QB? Not I said the Fly!

Saying he sucks over and over doesn't make it true. He was undrafted as much for a few off-field issues as much as his skill and came from a lesser known conference.

Rivera said he did one hell of a job for us last year when interviewed before OTAs. And we all know if Rivera doesn't like you he says little to nothing at all.

Bell is surely capable of starting in this league and has. He and Campbell will battle it out for the starting job. In any case he provides great depth at the position if he doesn't start.

Lots of guys logged starts last year....doesn't mean they are now starting material.

And again, saying he did well given the circumstances is fine....but that doesn't make his play actually good.

Good story. Seems like a the kind of guy you want. Welcome him being groomed.....he is just getting the standard Panther bump. We need him to be good therefore we will inflate what he is.

Trading Otah at least frees up a roster spot for someone that actually play, not someone that will just mope around and complain about athlete's foot or some other injury he has.

The Panthers get a pick (albeit a late one) and open up a roster spot for someone else, possibly a special teams player; maybe someone like D.J. Campbell.

Exactly. You simply cannot afford to carry dead weight. Every single spot on your roster must be a potential contributor! The NFL is too competitive to waste spots on guys that are lacking in work ethic and toughness/passion for the game, guys that really don't care if they get on the field or not. I'm ecstatic that we improved our team by both addition and subtraction!

55 is a big boy. He can handle different views without having to name call...he knows he can defend his stance.

Good for him, but he still talking to a brick wall that is so ignorant he cant admit when he is wrong.
