Jeff Otah traded to the Jets

What most of the folks on this board believed then and still do is that we had bigger needs than an offensive tackle. When your offense is top 10 and your defense is in the bottom five, you go defense often in the draft.

Speaking of teams that had shaky offensive lines and did little to upgrade in free agency or the draft, here is what was posted about Washington this week:

Good thing RGIII is fast, he's going to need it not to be the next David Carr.

1st off i agree the defense is in shambles but the FO really didn't address their biggest needs. Cornerback, no. 2 pashrusher or the lack of a solid DT. I know all hopes are on Norman but when a late round rookie from a small school is asked to be the guy, well something is wrong.

2) This is about Otah and his replacement/

I couldn't care less what Otah goes on to NY and do, because just like Kris Jenkins the inevitable is bound to happen.

Kris had a pro bowl season with the Jets his first year, and then proceeded to miss the next two years with season ending injuries.

Let's say we kept Otah and he had a pro bowl season, that fool would've been demanding Joe Thomas money.

It's best we cut our loses now and move on.

Let him be someone else's headache.

I believe the jets still have dead cap money on the books from Jenkins. Not a great long term investment, and it looks pretty similar with Otah.

Otah was already replaced last year and hasn't played regularly in 2 years. So he is really not the issue. As for focusing on the defense we did fix things. We already drafted a 4th rounder in 2011 and a 6th rounder in 2012 to be the second corner. Hardy is going to be a beast this year after bulking up similarly to Johnson a few years ago, and Edwards is coming back from IR and will be very solid. Watch my predictions come true.

My question. Why not just keep Schwartz and trade Otah earlier?

yea, a guy with a bum hip is the better bet. Bell or Cambell will be fine. Surely Dan Snyder would have made the correct decision.

redskin trash.
