Hopefully he makes the most of this opportunity. I've actually watched Murphy play due to having a few Raiders on Fantasy teams over the past few years and the guy does have skill. I believe he has a chance to seriously compete for either the #2 or #3 job. Anyone know if Murphy was friends with Cam at Florida? I'm sure Chud/Rivera are familiar with Murphy back in their Chargers days.

Not what I had in mind, but I'll take it. The only thing that gives me pause is his durability (but, I suppose, that's why Oakland was willing to trade him).

My opinion: Murphy easily has the ability to be a WR3 if he stays healthy. He showed flashes of above average skills his first two seasons, and was really poised for a break out but was derailed by injury. It will be interesting to see what happens in camp. Chico believes in competition, and the addition of Murphy should be a shot across the bow for every WR not named Smitty or LaFell.

I guess my reaction to this move at the moment is "meh" but it sounds like the kid has talent and with Gettis coming off a torn ACL we needed insurance.

If nothing else, this guy is fast and can block... that alone is incredibly valuable.

They sure love those AFC West guys. All of Rivera's chargers guys like Applewhite, Tolbert and etc. Chiefs' Ron Edwards and now Bruce Campbell and Murphy. Now we just need to add a Broncos player.
