The Dark Knight Rises SPOILER ALERT THREAD (with a preface that contains no spoilers)

You're kidding yourself if you think the studio is shelving Batman for any length of time. It's going to be rebooted fairly soon to fit in with the new Super Man so they can do a JLA movie. Plus, Batman is like a license to print money right now.

Saw it last night and loved it. Bane was awesome, Catwoman was better than I expected, and I pretty much loved everything about the film. I read spoilers before seeing it (I know, I know), but knowing what was going to happen and watching it all unfold was awesome, and I was able to notice the little things much better than I would've had I not read them. Great movie, perfect end to the trilogy.

I'd say Batman gets shelved until they push out a JL league, probably in 5-6 years where they could "reveal" the new Batman character there and launch a new film a year later.

They should quickly make a Joseph Gordon Levitt Batman carrying on this story, written by Goyer and directed by Darren Aronofsky. Then a Wonder Woman starring Gina Carano. Then they'll have enough origin stories done to make a Justice League, and they can do spin-offs from there.

I just watched the 1st Batman 2005 and the little blond hair blue eyed kid is King Joffrey....lol

I haven't watched the movie in forever and the kids recorded it and the kid that Katie Homes protects against the crazies at the end of the movie is him.

not kidding the King Joffrey kid was the thing I noticed rewatching it haha

went to see it for the second time today. First off, Imax is awesome, it was definitely worth the money and way better than 3-D.

Two things I noticed:

1- When Bruce and Alfred are first talking about Selina Kyle- Alfred says, "You guys should exchange notes over coffee." Which is obviously the ending.

2-When Blake first approaches Gordon he says, "Don't you want to know who he (Batman) was?" Gordon replies, "I know who he was, he was the Batman." Ironically, Gordon doesn't know that there is so much more to him, which he realizes at the very end with his surprised revelation.

Finally, there was a nasty storm that went through the Durham Chapel Hill area, and the power in the theater cut off half way through the movie. They gave us passes for two free movies, but it was still annoying not being able to see the second half of the movie.

I feel bad for my friend he had yet to see it, so he is blue-balled like crazy right now.

I'm really jealous of those who got to see the trilogy back to back to back. I havent gotten a chance to go back and watch the first 2 yet, but it seemed like DKR tied into both a lot.

I thought it worked very well as a conclusion and I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters. Seems like in comic movies there is always a character or 2 who is poorly done or doesnt really fit with the director's take, but Nolan does an excellent job fitting the characters to his world

I'm really wondering how Bruce Wayne has the money to travel the world with Selina Kyle after he went broke in the movie

I remember them saying that he could get the money back with proving that bane was the one who made Wayne corp lose the money and it could be recovered. I'm also sure Bruce had something hidden in his mattress.

am I the only one who absolutly hated this movie? It was 100% crap. This was not batman the character at all. Batman has always used his gadgets etc to stay one step ahead oh his opponents and to give him an edge yet he decides to take on Bain, not once but twice in hand to hand combat? Alfred walks out on Batman because he doesnt want him to get hurt? LMFAO. Alfred encouraged Wayne to become batman in Batman Begins. And as long as the core stayed in the reactor, it was stable but yet they have an emergency plan to destroy the reactor by flooding it? A broken back/spinal injury can be fixed by a punch and hanging from a rope? Just wow. What kind of prison is this. A clear escape route, no guards, and inmates get as many chances as they want to escape. The whole movie was just plain idiotic. No where near as brillant The Dark Knight was. IMO this is the worst Batman movie out of all the Batman movies.
