Andre Neblett suspended FOUR games

Recommended Posts

For all you calling him stupid id disagree. He probably saw it as necessary to stay in the league. Its not like he is a probowler looking for an extra edge. He was trying to keep his job. Understandable to me in all honesty, sucks he got caught though.

Panthers defensive tackle Andre Neblett has been suspended for the first four regular-season games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, the league announced Wednesday.

Neblett, a third-year player who was an undrafted free agent out of Temple in 2010, will lose $135,000 – a fourth of his salary – while serving the suspension.

A first violation of the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances triggers a four-game suspension without pay.

Neblett can participate in the team's preseason practices and games, and will be eligible to return Oct. 1 before the team's Week 5 game against Seattle.

Messages left with Neblett's agent, Tony Paige, on Thursday were not immediately returned.

The Panthers are not allowed to comment on the situation.

Neblett, 6 feet and 295 pounds, started four games last season after rookie starters Terrell McClain and Sione Fua were placed on injured reserve. Neblett finished with 21 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 12 games.

Neblett is expected to be part of a rotation at defensive tackle that includes McClain, Fua, Frank Kearse and Ron Edwards, who did not play a snap last season after tearing his triceps during his first practice at training camp.

I was searching the Web to see if anyone picked him up. Cant find anything about him signing anywhere else.

Maybe the FO needs to think about bringing him back into the fold. Unless RR knows something that we don't know.

They cut Shirely and kept Ogemdi Nwagbuo. That pretty much answers the question.
