  1. 1. Should we have let Deangelo Williams leave via free agency last year?

it's been verified that it's a passing league. Otherwise, I don't know what league you've been watching

You got a copy of the verification!?!?

It is more of a passing league, doesn't mean that yhe run game isn't important.

Ravens

Texans

Cinncy

Broncos

Atlanta

San Fran

Giants ( in the playoffs)

All playoff teams and all relied on a strong run game

They don't have to spend it on top tier FAs to find players. We just need guys who aren't liabilities....

Well, they spent it on mid tier guys and we don't know how reliable they are till they actually play. Same with ANYBODY you bring in. Right?

League stats are free....feel free to double check it.

Giants had the 32nd ranked ground attack last year when they one the SB.....let's give that one a rest.

Denver? Yeah, they had a real shot didn't they....

Cincy and Atl were very avg running teams. The rest? Weak or overrated QBs....which is why teams run now.

Who wins Superbowls in today's NFL.... Elite QB play or rushing attacks? If you have to be good at something it shouldn't be rushing.... it is a bonus. QB play and D wins in today's NFL

We could always use more mid tier guys at important positions....RB isn't an important position and we have an overflow.

Giants "IN the playoffs tho doesn't matter that they were the worst rushing team in the league i'm just gunna put them here"

also I don't know if I distinctly remember Flacco being carried by the running game against Houston ( a team who showcased a QB that was throwing for like 250 yards a game before he fell to injury) while he was throwing for 2 touchdowns and the backs couldn't muster 100 yards rushing.

Oh and here's the play selection of pass/run attempts for each of those teams you mentioned just so we can be clear on how much they relied on running the ball.

Baltimore 544/459

Denver 429/546

Atlanta 594/453

Giants 589/411 (playoffs: 112 rushing attempts for 466 yards and an eye-popping 2 rushing touchdowns. Eli Manning on the other hand produced 1,219 gross passing yards in 163 attempts with 9 touchdowns and 1 interception. How in the fug does this suggest they relied on the running game in the playoffs to you I have no idea.)

Houston 467/546

Cincinnati 535/455

San Fran 451/498

now besides all that can you bring up some financial figures so we can compare how much they invest in the running game compared to us?

So you're only discrediting the Giants? Yes they sucked at running, but they still ran 40% of the time. So therefore they still relied on the run 40% of the time.

But the rest of those playoff teams are legitimate run teams???

All teams have rushing attempts...

Elite QB play and D wins. But hey, we can brag that we have better RBs on the sidelines than others do on the field....good fun for message boards

he averages 5.4 yards per carry and is part of one of the best rushing attacks in football..how can anyone hate him...Once we lose him a lot of you will realize how important he is to the team

people on this forum need to realize, it's not hate.

if the roles were reversed and stewart was the vet and williams the younger just as capable back, i'd still have the same stance...only i'd be complaining about why stewart got a stupid contract when his obvious replacement was on the roster.

No one is hating on him....some are looking at the situation that Carolina is in and not just a player in a vacuum.

We could lose Williams and have the best ground attack in the NFL. Name a current team with more potential on the ground than a combo of Cam, Stewart and Tolbert?
