Should we have let D-will walk

  1. 1. Should we have let Deangelo Williams leave via free agency last year?

The running game is clearly not the reason we have struggled as of late. It has been the passing game and a struggling defense that have been the issue. Frankly the running game is one of the only really brigjt spots. Saying the running game hasn't done anything puts that post in the running for ignorant post of the day.

As much as people claim its a passing league(CRA), I will not be be shocked if we don't run the ball more than last season. We have the ability and personnel to have the greatest and most versatile rushing attack in the league, this season.

Running back is not a priority position anymore. You don't need 3 starters to be successful, and we've accomplished nothing with double trouble sharing handoffs.

Neither one being rode into the ground. big plays from both, including late in games. having another good back when one can't go.it's safe to say we disagree.

How is it a lack ot "real players" when we dont know if they're good OR bad. You gotta give young guys time, nobody comes in all-pro.

True, but all hopefuls don't pan out....

And on our starting D we are hoping 2 Ss, a CB, a DE, and 2 DTs pan out and become players. That is a lot of holes on one side of the ball we hope people step up to own.

2 first round picks in 3 years spent on running backs. We've spent so many resources and attention on the running game ever since the seahawks beat us with Jamal Robertson taking handoffs and people erroneously blamed our lack of running backs in that game as the ONLY reason we lost

lol...the ole passing league is a myth theory?

Marino and Peyton's single season passing records were broken last year (2 broke Marino's long standing record).

3 QBs threw for 5k

10 threw for 4k

(in 2003 when we made the Superbowl there were 0 5k QBs and a grand total of 2 4k passers)

....the league has without a doubt shifted to a passing league....and the league has intentionally done it.

Yea, and just who was our Franchise QB through those years? Saying we are a losing Franchise lately is true, but blaming it on having two quality RBs is just silly.

We have been in rebuilding mode basically since Jake left. Do you think it is a coinky dinky that our ills started when our QB fell apart? No Franchise QB=hard to win consistently.

Every year you get better. But you can build all you want. Until you have a Franchise QB you will struggle.

did you understand what exactly the team's philosophy was up until they brought in Cam?

run the ball and have a QB manage the game but have the poise to make a play when needed.

obviously that formula failed, and now we have a QB who will eventually be the focal point of the offense because he can do so much more than a ground attack in today's league no matter how talented you make it

Foster wouldn't of one that Sea game....Sea was the first team willing to overplay and cover Smith. Jake and Fox had no plan B when they took Smith away.... No team did it all year

it's been verified that it's a passing league. Otherwise, I don't know what league you've been watching

What do you expect? You can't fill all those roles with "proven" players. That would take the Bucs type cap space. The Panthers did exactly what they always do, draft players to compete and bring in FAs that they feel may become role players. I honestly don't think if they had a poo ton of cash they'd spend it on top tier FAs.

while you can't ignore that your chances of being successful running the ball would've been increased with foster in there, uh, he was also Jake's no.2 option on passing downs. What these "we need 8 running backs" idiots don't want to mention is his loss hamstrung our passing game as well, because now the Seahawks could solely zero in on Smith and pin their ears back. Also we were absolutely battered at that point after a physical game against Chicago, on our third road playoff game in as many weeks, and the Seahawks were not going to lose at home ever that season.

doesn't help when you drop like 3x as much money on running back talent than teams that are consistently good

Correct.... everyone can't be a legit player. In a passing league with a rushing QB we do however have 3 starting caliber players in the backfield. Too bad they all can't be on the field for most downs.... and that Cam will be the most efficient part of the rushing attack

They don't have to spend it on top tier FAs to find players. We just need guys who aren't liabilities....
