Hurney has done this before and always manages to work out.

Quit worrying about it, if Stew wants to be here, he'll be here.

Well, he's managed his rosters to 3 winning seasons in 10. I'd hope for things to work out a little better than that.

I'm not worried, I'm just disgusing my team :)

Most people would and we probably will, since Williams contract is guaranteed... for what two more years or so?

Either get rid of Williams or restructure his contract.

Most people just go bat-poo crazy and think "what the hell is Hurney doing"? When in actuality he does a pretty good job at managing the cap.

Guaranteed money = the only money that matters.

Also, I wish that we had gotten Deangelo 3 more carries a game so that he would have broken 1000 yards. Then tons of people would be saying "OMG He is elite and underrated", instead of this crap every other week.

Okay....but that really doesn't change much. Year later....guaranteed is close

Hurney does a good job playing with numbers when he has to....

That doesn't mean he has made wise decisions with all the contracts.

He is a coaches GM though....that makes him a good GM overall

Okay, since we're determined to keep pounding poor ole Nellie, anybody see where JStew ranked as a pass blocker? It was either PFF or FO (can't remember) but his overall rating was dead last in the league.

Relevant? Who cares? It's still the offseason.

True, but we couldn't slap the franchise tag on him because we needed it for Kalil. Even with the Ravens having the ultimate bargaining chip in their corner and an extended "holdout" he got more guaranteed money. We were in no position to strongarm Deangelo like that.

We wanted to surround our young quarterback with a good running game and retain talent on a bad team. We had to pay to do that. Not the greatest move ever, but I understand it and move on.

You can manage your team wisely and still suck if you don't have a good coaching staff.

Being able to find ways to keep under the cap does not make you a good GM, that makes you good at numbers.

I loved the Williams pick, I never understood the Stewart pick. IMO the only way to not comound the problems of spending two firsts on a RB in 3 years is to not make the even worse mistake of overpaying both of them on their second contracts. It's almost like the team is trying to outsmart the recent belief that you don't overdraft or overspend on running backs by going completely against it.

It just seems to like a major mistake to me.

I should have made myself more clear, my fault.

When Hurney screws up, he is usually able to correct his screw ups. I don't see why it should be any different this time.
