The Panthers franchise got a shot in the arm last year from quarterback Cam Newton (above), who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft out of Auburn. Newton led the Panthers to six wins, four more than in 2010, and had a combined 35 touchdowns rushing and throwing. Newton was nearly a unanimous choice for the Rookie of the Year award.
