FA projected losses over next 2 years

Ummmm that's only for players who were franchise tagged.

So can you sign players to a new contract anytime during the year or is there a period of time where you can't during the season??

And for franchise tag players it is until November or week 10 before they have to sit out. They can't play until they sign but can sign up to week 10 and get their year of accrued service, I think.

Makes 0 sense to lock Cam up at this point. Only 3 things could happen:

1)If he has a significant drop in production we would have overpaid,

2) if he turns into a top 5 QB he is going to want top 5 money.

3) he gets hurt and it's a moot point.

In the words of Emilly Latella-----

-Nevermind....................................

Posted by the guy who isn't even a "thousand" aire........

Just because you ate at Denny's and Hardee's a few times doesn't make you think a billionaire. Then again, you are a legend in your own mind and still butthurt about the Panthers picking Kuechly as I said we would over all your Aaron Curry BS.

lol

Sorry for the delayed responses....I was busy making my first $1000

This is what happens when someone is proven wrong....when they think they are right all the time. 1 post quoted 3 times...all super sweet digs lol

P55 is probably TRD's dad.

Im hoping I was wrong about Kuechly and am 100% behind him and hope he succeeds...said that after we drafted him. Not like the Cam haters....

If you have worked in a fortune 500 company in the late 90 to early 2000s when the market collapsed and companies laid off 100 thousands of workers you understand that loyalty is an often thrown around word that is fine when convenient and things are going well, but means nothing when the mess hits the fan.

Copy and pasted for you: "There is loyalty within business, although at the end of the day, you have to make a decision that benefits the team. It is my believe that within that decision, loyalty is considered, not the determining factor, but considered." Replace the word team with the word business and keep it moving...

Words are cheap and so are platitudes about loyalty. Lets ask Hoover and Kasay about loyalty.

You are rarely right. Your MO is to put down everyone else and make fun of others as if that elevates yourself. It works with children and teenagers but rarely with mature adults. Funny how you can deal it out better than you can take it.

I don't pretend to be right all the time. In fact I admit I am a fan and just post what those that "know it" say or write. The fact that I am right more times than wrong just means that I am a good observer and pay attention to the folks that are the experts. I claim no great expertise myself.

You must be my wife

Do I insult or do I argue? Obviously someone who thinks they are always right would find it insulting when proven wrong. Bet if I looked back through this thread I would see how insulting I am...while you are quite innocent.

My OP in this thread...

Cam will be given an extension after his third year. I imagine it will be for 5 years so he can be restructured or extended in that deal 4 years in if he outperforms it.

This organization rewards performance and is willing to pay top dollar to their people at the tail end of their contracts wherher they deserve it or not...Beason, Delhomme, DeAngelo, even Peppers

P55's Reply insinuating if you do not agree with him than you are not business savvy

Tell me one guy we paid early. Smith?? No. Jake?? No. Peppers?? No. Williams??? No Stewart?? No Johnson?? No. The only way a guy gets paid early is if you tear up the old contract or he threatens to sit out if you don't pay him like Chris Johnson did. We aren't going to give him less by signing him early so there is no reason to do it and we never have.

what makes you think we do it now?? We won't let him get to free agency but there is no reason at all to sign him after year 3. None.

Obviously none of you are businessmen because you surely don't think like one.

Panthro Responds

Obviously we think like a billionaire...not a maroon who thinks he's always right

*shows P55 that we signed Steve Smith to an extension with 3 years left on his contract when he asked emphatically to show him one example.*

P55 meltdown

I don't pretend to be right all the time.

It's not pretend when you believe it.

The fact that I am right more times than wrong just means that I am a good observer and pay attention to the folks that are the experts.

Ahh that's the P55 everyone knows....

It pains you not to be right.

How can you ask the question about insulting me when you did in this thread. Am I innocent in all this?? Not this time. I did insult you but lets not act as if you didn't start it to begin with. While I usually take the high road, today I didn't and responded in kind. Congratulations in bringing out the worse in me.

And it really doesn't matter if I am wrong. I have been married for 35 years so whatever you have experienced being married I have had in spades. LOL

I don't recall any poster claiming that....earliest was after year 3 and before year 4....which I think is the earliest they could choose to address it.

Which falls in line with the franchise QBs of the 2004 class if you look at Cam's deal as a 4 yr one (which many do)

I said that loyalty plays a factor but is not the determing factor. I'm sure that Hoover and Kasay contributions were considered prior to their release and if you read my post, you should have understood that I feel that players who have contributed positively over the years should be shown loyalty and not that they would not be released because of that loyalty.

And I did read your post. I am pointing out that shoulda, coulda, woulda, doesn't have much sway in the business side of companies for the most part and that includes football. That is why players hold out and often push for the most like Brees just did. They realize that the moment they are no longer able to play at a high level the paydays end and they get released. I agree that loyalty is important but I am old school and that is not how things work in most businesses these days.
