Bobcats claim Brendan Haywood

Haywood is a good pickup for 3 year $6 mil. Gives you a solid center with plenty of size but who isnt a guy who will take too many minutes from the young guys.

Kemba Walker, Ramon Sessions

Gerald Henderson, Ben Gordon

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Jeffrey Taylor

Bismack Biyombo, Tyrus Thomas

Brendan Haywood

Thats a solid 9 man rotation with a lot of athleticism. Ideally replace Tyrus with Jamison or someone on a short contract and thats an fun team to watch with a lot of future cap flexibility

Our team changed quickly overnight didnt it. I couldnt remember that we were the worst team last year. Well, if anyone really kept up with the team, youll know Cho tanked the season so we could have a play for AD. On paper we were the worst team in history, but we couldve won a few more games than 7.

But NO to Jamison. He's old and not a rebuilding block. I want young players who we can build with. Not an old player just for his leadership. We already have the leadership in Dunlaps, Kemba, Bismack, and MKG already. You can see it in them last night. Let them grow together.

Sweet, now let's just get Jamison and call it an off season.

2012-2013 Current Roster

PG: Kemba Walker, Ramon Sessions

SG: Gerald Henderson, Ben Gordon, Reggie Williams, Matt Carroll

SF: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Jeffrey Taylor, Derrick Brown

PF: Bismack Biyombo, Tyrus Thomas

C: Brendan Haywood, Byron Mullens, DeSagana Diop

If we sign Jamison, I can see Carroll, Thomas and Diop as the three inactive's for each game.

Walker

Henderson

Gilchrist

Thomas

toss-up (Biyombo or Haywood)

If Tyrus Thomas comes back next season with 20 additional pounds of muscle and his athletic potential, I wouldn't be surprised to see "DUNLAP" start him at PF based on the way he wants them to play.

By the way, either Scola or Humphries is probably a stretch, but Jamison can't play Dunlap basketball. Not sure Haywood can either, but we'll see.

I was about to say the total opposite.

Now, I'm even more optimistic about Shabazz after the Haywood pickup bc we have a big man already.

Gordon is probably going to be the 6th man for us. Hendo, im not sure at all. I hope he improves, but if he doesnt bump his ppg to atleast 18ppg at the end of next season, and Shabazz is somewhat productive at UCLA, you're going to see a lot of Shabazz Muhammad from me in here next year this time around.

Do you really believe that Haywoid is our legit C if the future? If so, Gid help you.

He gives us a big body. This signing means nothing concerning who we would take next draft.

Yeah, I don't think anyone knows for sure who "starts" at the 4 or 5 at this point. A case can be made for Haywood at Center, Biyombo or Mullens at PF or C, and probably Tyrus "with 20 more pounds of muscle" Thomas at PF by the time camp starts, since building up his body may be a sign that he'll bring it next year.

Never said hes a legit Center. Im saying hes a decent center enough to play that spot for now and 2013 where it gives us the opportunity to draft a prospect like Shabazz or McAdoo. Noel and Zeller are also great prospect, but I could wait with Haywood or Biyombo.

Biyombo may never develop, he may just be a poor man's Serge Ibaka, with this in mind; power forward and center are the positions of need for the future. Try not to short term.

The only position that is set for the future is SF. Probably PG too, but we could use an upgrade at the other three.

Steve Reed (AP) Article

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - The Charlotte Bobcats have been awarded center Brendan Haywood off waivers from Dallas.

Haywood, who grew up in Greensboro and played collegiately at North Carolina - the same alma mater as owner Michael Jordan - was cut loose by the Mavericks using the amnesty clause.

An 11-year NBA veteran, the 7-foot Haywood helps fills a void at center.

Haywood has played in 733 career games for the Wizards and Mavericks with 531 starts, averaging 7.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 23.7 minutes. His career field-goal percentage of .534 ranks seventh among active players and 28th in NBA history.

Haywood was a member of Dallas' 2011 NBA championship team, and has appeared in 53 career playoff games.

Charlotte announced the move on Saturday.

Im definitely a Peoples Republic of Chapel Hill hater but I think McAdoo will be incredible..full support for him and expect big things with his skill level.

I do hope he plays at a level where he is the 4th best guy in the draft bc you know we are not getting the 1st pick eva...
