Never had a losing record.....and have had some injury to key spots/players during those years. OL issues, Gates, Jackson etc....and still the worst they do is .500.

Pretty sure we have had 2 back to back...

So....

They've missed the playoffs in a extremely weak division for two years in a row. Norv knew he needed a strong run game so they attempted to draft a top tier RB, in Mathews (1st rounder btw) but he hasn't worked out. They tried to keep Tolbert, because he was the most reliable back they had. As you should know, the Air Coryell system is predicated off a strong run game and the deep ball.

Yeah, but that doesn't happen....not the way you paint it. Why not ask Beason to restructure his deal he just signed for Stewart....or Smitty.....or Johnson. They will all say nope. These guys have a short window to make money. Players on the backside of careers will do stuff for rings.....but they already had there big paydays.

DeAngelo worked his entire life for that deal he just signed. He wants to take care of his family and set his kids up. You gonna take a paycut so your company can pay someone.....when others can do that persons job?

Actually... if it were a close friend, and / or someone I know would not only make my life easier, but also extend my career by a good few years, then yeah - I would.

It's actually a smart choice to make.

I understand, I think, what you are driving at. Norv had Tolbert and was unsuccessful, even though Tolbert was reliable. We now have Tolbert so he will be reliable. Which in turn, helps our passing game. Which makes our O that more balanced. Which makes it that more scary. Which makes my giddy giddier.

So, we have Tolbert. Cam has the deep ball. We are good to go? No? jk

Great running game is still important- that is all.

Okay....they still dealt with injuries to the OL, Gates, VJ etc since losing there RBs and still havent had a losing season. What do you think would happened with a healthy OL, Gates and VJ?

And yes, a run game is part of making it work....but the run game doesn't carry the team. Big armed downfield attack is every bit as important and RBs are a dime as dozen.....and without half of Double Trouble we still aren't close to having a dime a dozen type ground attack.

And if that close friend wasn't in jeopardy of actually being unemployed? and that you likely only had a very small window to make money left....YOU would take a paycut? You are taking a paycut with retirement around the corner bc you don't want a single coworker working in a different city part of the year.....bc you like his water cooler talk?

Nothing about that sounds smart IMO

DWill already got his money. He is not hurting. He will retire a very rich young man. Do not put your negativity toward life on him. He is doing just fine.

If I were in DWills' place, I would hope I would do the right thing. He has already got 75% of his money, why not make it easy for your buddy to do the same, and make the team better at the same time? Why Not? Just because you say it won't happen, I am supposed to drop the issue? I believe in people doing the right thing. To bad your world seems so much darker.

We have the money to pay Stewy. Why Not pay him? He makes us better. End of story.

Nothing about that post is negative. Just realistic. Williams just signed that deal.... He hasn't seen much

DeAngelo and the rest of those guys have also worked their entire life to win a Superbowl, if they thought restructuring to keep Stewart gets them closer to that, they'd do it... there's plenty of examples of that.

Again, it's not really about losing money... it's about when you get the money. They can shift things around to make it work.
