Whats the deal with Cam charging for Autographs today?

PFT built their crappy reputation on florio being a joke who just threw crap on the wall to see what stuck. largely baseless rumors meant to get attention and case a stir.

they've gotten better over the past couple years, but most in here remember them being a joke.

i have a huge problem with these events... not so much with cam actually getting paid to do it, but the fact is these guys just sit there and sign all day long and at the end of the day, it makes their signature that much less valuable. im thinking long term like 40 years from now and you go on ebay for a cam new autographed ball and there is 75 of them to choose from.

not your dime. not sure why anyone would care one way or the other what other people do with their money as long as it isn't hurting anyone but their wallet.

There's no value in a signature that isn't sold. I'm not sure where you are going with this logic.

i agree with you.. and i dont ever sell any of my autographed stuff, but lets be realistic.. sometime things happen and you might need that money one day. if your kid had cancer and you need 5grand dont tell me you wouldnt sell every autographed peice of whatever you have...

i know its far fetched but i just tend to think the autographs are more "special" when there isnt many out there.. aside from the money aspect

then you should be happy he's doing events like this and probably should make people pay for every autograph he gives because just think how many there would be if it was free...

How is this even remotely related to Charlotte being or not being a major city?

Many of the residents I know of Charlotte simultaneously want to talk up Charlotte as being on the level of cities like Atlanta and New York and then lament it "losing its small-town charm." Pick a damn side and stick with it. Fowler's attitude of being OK with Cam charging for autographs anywhere but Charlotte is an example of this retarded attitude. He's a big boy in a major city, charge the hell out of 'em.

This will be news for all of 3 days, and then. . .poof. . .forgotten.

I have zero problem with Cam charging $125, when the signed product is either invaluable to the recipient or will be worth more on the market. It's a win-win and good business sense.

Charlotte really needs to get its friggin panties straightened out if it ever expects to be taken seriously as a major city.

Scott Fowler is a horrible writer, and his whole schtick with the observer is old and pathetic. He always does this stupid morality test bullshit. Scott Fowler is obviously a perfect human being and heads above us as people.

But hey, Fowler's dumbass article is now making it's rounds nationally so it's worked out well for him.

I think this also has to do with the polarizing effect Cam's personality has. Pro athletes do this all the time and Cam won't be the last. People around the country hate Cam and this is just another opportunity to take a few personal shots at him. Pretty childish and pathetic if ya ask me!

If you don't like it, don't go buy it! PROBLEM SOLVED

you're doing it wrong. you're supposed to shoot first, throw out accusations of being greedy, then ask questions later.

haha that guy is most def a noob! he's should of called into question Cam's character and blamed it on the color of his skin first.
