Direct TV Losing 26 Channels Tonight

I miss those channels and the NFL Network. Stuck with Charter at home (which is probably 10x worse than TWC)

Yeah, but I was so pissed being on campus, lol. And we did it for 7 years because my wife finished her masters and then I started after that...

Man, there was only like 3 channels for the kids to choose from and all I had was NFLN and the ESPNs. No League Pass and I couldn't get Sunday Ticket. Then, they'd show the Hurricanes games but not Bobcats games, lol. We've only been in our new home for about a month or so and the kids have loved having all those options, especially in the afternoon if they're inside b/c that's when the main channels go to teen dramas. SMH...

On top of that, I signed up through Centurylink so now I have to pay for Sunday Ticket when I could've gotten it for free if I had went through DTV.

I feel for you though... My parents had Charter and it was horrendous. I just hope this crap gets resolved and quickly.

What was funny to me yesterday was seeing a channel with both Viacoms and DirectTVs arguments scrolling across the bottom of the screen. Surprised they didn't work out a last minute deal.

    • Replying to razor forgot to quote: Sad to say would have been better, I didn’t mean I was personally apologizing for anything.   I have driven with a buzz for sure. Long life, lots has happened. Also was a totally sober person for a long time. Seen both sides.  The biggest issue as I see it is with people who have one too many and then it is on... they have lost all control and judgement when they have that one that pushes them over. That, is really dangerous.
    • Increasing punishment only deters crime to a point.  The vast majority of people who drink and drive are doing it with the expectation that they won't be caught (and 95% of the time, they are right, which is why they keep doing it; they don't consider the possibility of something bad happening and facing punishment).  Making the punishment more severe isn't going to change that, especially when this decision is made by those who aren't thinking clearly to begin with. If cutting down on drinking and driving is the goal, then the solution isn't making the punishment more severe, but by making alcohol less accessible.  But that will never happen.
    • If we were somewhere that was okay, we could have a fun conversation I am pretty sure.
