Direct TV Losing 26 Channels Tonight

All I ever watched was NFL network, Nat Geo, Animal Planet, Sci-fi, and food network when I had DirecTV.

If you have NFL Mobile on a Verizon Wireless cell-phone or a Verizion Wireless device, you can watch NFLN programming and all the Thursday Night Games on your phone.

This would piss me off, seriously. My wife and I just bought our own house after living on campus in student family housing for the last 7 years. All we had was relayed DirecTV through the campus cable at UNC.

We just got DirecTV when we moved and for the most part it's been awesome. My kids love being able to watch Yo Gabba Gabba at random times of the day if they're not outside playing. As far as the other ones, I'd miss Comedy Central if I knew what channel it was now, lol.

I hope they get it worked out. Otherwise, they can take CMT and Logo regardless, lol.

SN: We got the ChoiceXtra package, and I'm actually disappointed and surprised it didn't come with HBO and the like. Seems like there would be a lot more channels available than what we got.

All I watch is NFLN, MLB channel, and the MLB Extra Innings package. Everything else is crap.

During the NFL Season, I need my NFL Network, so fug TWC. Dish dropping AMC is fuging stupid.

All that said, as Panthro said, they usually run up until the last second. In fact a few years ago we were supposed to lose our local channels. And they were still on at Midnight. They reached a deal overnight.

FWIW, DirecTV announced yesterday they would continue to carry the channels regardless and if they did disappear it was by Viacom's choice.

This is happening with increasing frequency everytime a contract comes up.... but they always get worked out.

Nothing wrong with disputes over cost issues. Rates are going up fast enough as is. Lots of these stations could disappear overnight and it would never be noticed by the vast majority of subscribers to DTV.

Out of all those stations CC is the only one I watch. If it disappeared tomorrow it would not be a deal breaker as most of the worthwhile content can be accessed on line.

I waited 7 years to get DTV, in huge part because of the lack of channels I had available on campus for my kids. Now I get it and enjoyed all but a month of all the different Nickelodeons for them. They watch Yo Gabba Gabba, Franklin, Little Bill, etc. at all times during the day.

DTV better get this sh*t fixed or we better see a reduction in our bill.

I miss those channels and the NFL Network. Stuck with Charter at home (which is probably 10x worse than TWC)
