well the seahawks literally tripled smith that game. smart tactic, he carried us to that game along with our defense.

this was when the true flaw behind henning's "feed the stud" offense was known.

we had no other weapons on offense. we had let go the only other respectable WR we had. we were relying on a bad RB corps. davis was over-the-hill and over-used. foster was a fumble and an injury waiting to happen.

Well this time around we have a coach that can actually adapt to the game and change his gameplan instead of sticking with one that isn't working through out the whole game.

AMEN!

after that game began my disillusionment with foxy. by the '07 season i wanted him gone. there were just too many red flags. i felt he was just holding this team back way too much.

this is probably the biggest reason i want to keep as many stud RBs in the stable as possible.

like it or not, this offense depends on having a strong run game. it isn't the focus, but it depends on it.

beyond that, though, i don't ever want to be stuck in an NFC championship game with a starting RB the caliber of jamal robertson again. that was pathetic.

Reason IMO we lost that game is Seattle triple teamed our one man show in Steve Smith who was a video game that year.

I don't think having Foster would have one that game when they were the only team we faced smart enough to completly take Smitty out as a WR.

Fox hadn't dealt with a team willing to do what Seattle did IMO.

Rivera's face at :43: "Sh*t, we are about to lose". Now, we have him - someone that knows football.

true. truth is we were just waaaay to limited in what we were willing to do (or able to do because of having such a limited football philosophy). passing game to fox just wasn't that important. smitty had been just fine all year. they had done the same thing every game so why change? why prepare for anything else? that mindset really hurt the progression of this team and it was more than anything the reason we didn't have more successful seasons.

Fox was ok when Dan Henning was running the show. Fox would unleash him the last 5 minutes of the game and get wins. When he got his yes man in Jeff Davidson things went down for the offense and Foxy. He was a great coach and still is, he just has a way of doing things that only works when everything happens perfectly. When your running backs go down or your wide reciever gets hurt the season is just plain over. That Seattle game may have been different if we had Moose but he caught 100 balls for 1500 yards the year before and signed a big deal in Chicago. They tried to replace him with DJ Hacket and it didn't work out. Let's not forget Fox got to the playoffs AND won a game last year. What did we do?

I love Ron but he has not proven a damn thing yet. He needs to win some playoff games before we crown him. If you think Ron Rivera is God and Fox is the devil then you are a pretty unstable person. The truth is somewhere in the middle. Hopefully it works out but it hasn't yet. George Seifert had a big play passing attack for years and we didn't win poo.
