Bobcats in Dwight Howard's Trade Talk.

Recommended Posts

My bad fellas, I just now saw it and must've missed it posted in this thread.

Honestly, at this point, I don't really want Humphries. Especially if he has gotten a big-head about one or two good years. I'd rather have Hickson if he decides to sign here. That's my #1 FA target.

I also think from the Jamison update that he certainly will sign here. I'll be surprised if he doesn't.

The way the Bobcats are pursuing power forwards, it makes you think that the Cats are comfortable with Bismack Biyombo playing center.

Though from a fans persepctive it may not seem ideal, Biyombo definitley has the ability to play center in part because of his 7'6 wing-span; which happens to trump Anthony Davis's 7'5 wing-span I might add.J

If the Bobcats can add both Humphries and Jamison, I would expect Thomas to be on the inactive list quite a bit this season.

A potential roster of

(Bold = Inactive)

PG: D.J. Augustin, Kemba Walker

SG: Gerald Henderson, Ben Gordon, Reggie Williams, Matt Carroll

SF: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Derrick Brown, Jeffrey Taylor

PF: Kris Humphries, Antawn Jamison, Tyrus Thomas

C: Bismack Biyombo, Byron Mullens, DeSagana Diop

would go a long way in rebuilding this Bobcats franchise.

If this trade gos through as constructed it just shows how crooked the league is. So your telling me the Magic are getting fair value trading a HOF center for Luke Walton, Brook Lopez on a max deal, and 3 late first rounders

HOF Center with a bad back

If the Nets land Howard and don't lose Wallace in the process, and they remain relatively healthy next season, they should dethrone the Heat.

PG - Deron Williams

SG - Joe Johnson

SF - Gerald Wallace

PF - Reggie Evans (rebounding & hustle machine would complement Wallace & Howard more than well)

C - Dwight Howard

I would actually LIKE TO SEE THAT lineup happen.

depth....this team has none

I agree that starting lineup is ridiculous, but....its going to take a lot to topple the Heat who only got more confident and better

All the people complaining about this deal probably sided with the owners during the last lockout. They guzzled down the kool aid that player salaries and greed are ruining the sport. Not even a year later, GMs continue to give big multi million dollar contracts to scrubs and the big markets are still running FA and player movement. I give the NBA and Stern credit, they used LeBrons decision to gain support for this bullshit CBA, and it hasnt changed a thing. "Fans" want to stick it so bad to players they give these incompetent GMs and owners a pass.Teams are still givin out horrible contracts, big markets still get the trades and players they want, and teams that sucked under the old CBA will still suck under the new one. In 5 years the owners will opt out and rile fans up about players making too much and parity they claim to want and 99% of the fans will side with them again.

I'm reading most posters say we'd get Humphries AND a 1st round draft pick.

This says "various reports have the Cavaliers accepting Humphries, in return for a future first-round pick from the Nets, in order to make a deal work under the salary cap." - http://www.charlotte...mphries-in.html

So if we replace CLE we give up a 1st , not get a 1st.

Hahaha no we would absolutely not give up a 1st. Humphries is an unrestricted free agent, we would be doing the Nets a favor by agreeing to a sign and trade rather than simply signing him outright and killing any chance the Nets have of getting Howard

Oh, and on that Marshon Brooks / Gerald Henderson argument that went on earlier- yall care way too much about 2 mediocre SGs.

How can the Knicks not see what is happening and go offer Humphries a multiyear deal, and try to blow up the Nets chances at Howard? You already have to deal with the Heat; do they really want another power team in their backyard. Same goes for Celtics and other East conference teams; why insure you will never be better than third in the east.

    • his height, size and arm will forever cause problems and limitations...that is what it is.  I think to a degree, the law of averages is just coming into play a bit with him.  So as he plays more and more, you just flat out get the decent days mixed in too.  Which is just going to happen.
    • Good point. He's definitely better in 10-15 yards. I think that's his biggest improvement. But he wasn't 3-10 +15, he was 3-7, with at least one drop (minor but still). And with multiple passes at 14 yards completed. This passing chart doesn't look like at By one, lol. He threw more "deep" passes than Mahomes (NOT comparing him to Mahomes in a skill way lol), or at least more beyind 10 yards.
    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
