Bobcats in Dwight Howard's Trade Talk.

Recommended Posts

You won't ever catch me pulling for State or Duke. Wake Forest doesn't really bother me because they are like the bastard child of the state.

ECU and App State fans are obnoxious as hell though.

Hey I wasn't born here. I was raised here. My blood doesn't carry as far as y'all. I'm Asian and not white so my tradition for these school doesn't go as ancient as yalls. So I always rooted for everyone in North Carolina. Not SC.

I'm a student at Uncg and im not even as much a fan for them as the other schools I mentioned above. Say what y'all say.

Update on the trade front

LAS VEGAS The Charlotte Bobcats could end up with power forward Kris Humphries, should the Brooklyn Nets use him in a sign-and-trade to help facilitate a deal for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard.

An NBA source confirms the Bobcats would be interested in Humphries, but only if he signs a one-season contract, rather than the multi-year deal he reportedly prefers.

The Magic, Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers are involved in complex talks that would involve multiple players and draft picks.

Various reports have the Cavaliers accepting Humphries, in return for a future first-round pick from the Nets, in order to make a deal work under the salary cap.

The Bobcats could take Humphries, but only if he’s playing under a short-term deal, the source confirmed.

Humphries, 27, averaged 13.8 points, 11.1 rebounds and shot 48 percent from the field last season. He’s an unrestricted free agent but can make more per season re-signing with the Nets, even in a sign-and-trade, than signing outright with another team.

Bobcats general manager Rich Cho has indicated he’d like to add another big man to the roster. A center might make more sense, but Humphries’ rebounding productivity and shooting percentage would help a team deficient in both areas.

ESPN reported Monday the Bobcats also might be interested in Nets shooting guard MarShon Brooks, rumored to be in a proposed deal for Howard. A source said Brooks probably wouldn’t fit in the Bobcats’ plans.

I rather watch 2 bears have sex then see UNC win in anything. Basket weaving, cricket, girls softballs whatever. I would love to see Sherman rise from the grave and Burn Chapel Hill down. fug them farmers of the future in Raleigh as well.

How would the deal works for us?

Would we receive a future first rd pick from the nets by taking Humphries?

If so, why wouldn't we do it anyway if he wants a long term contract. Hes young and has potential. A big body that we are lacking. Sign him, get a future first rd pick, and amnesty Thomas. Win win situation. Cho gotta be smart enough to make this happen.

Quit it guys. Y'all two would be holding hands under a table so we wouldn't know y'all likes each others.

I have absolutely no idea. Adding Humphries for a year along with a first round pick would be extremely satisfactory though.

That would be the first priority but if I was the gm, I would not mind signing him to a four year just so I could get a big body and also get a damn first rd pick. Why not do it but still keeps Thomas then? We need to amnesty Thomas. Humphries is worth more for a contract than Thomas.

The problem with amnestying Thomas is that you still have to pay their salary, it just doesn't count toward the cap. Being that Thomas has two years left on his contract, I don' think it's in the Bobcats best interest to amnesty Thomas until next year.

Also like I said before signing Humphries to a four year/$36 million dollar deal would be a huge mistake, because it could potentially put us in the same position we are now with Thomas.

Bobcats management is starting to take the safe approach when it comes to offering multi-year contracts that command over $15 million dollars and I don't blame them as Thomas's and Diop's contracts were one of the sole reasons that caused us to go through this rebuilding phase in the first place.

We couldn't afford to put good players around S-Jax and Wallace, so we had to get rid of them and start from scratch.
