If anyone is interested in going and meeting up, let me know!!!

The Fifth Annual Canes Summer Fun Fest is set for Friday, July 20 at 5:30 p.m. at PNC Arena. The event includes over twenty interactive inflatables, games and experiences, free giveaways, guest speakers from the Hurricanes, appearances by Stormy and the Eye Care Associates Storm Squad, discounted concessions, street hockey and hockey games, extended hours for The Eye and a showing of a Hurricanes video. Parking and admission are free to the general public.

New in 2012, the event will be moving inside PNC Arena. The activities will expand across the arena floor, first level and more! While the ice will not be down, fans will be able to take pictures on the team bench, in the penalty box, with the Olympias and more. Also, the Carolina Hurricanes banners hanging in the rafters will be lowered allowing fans to take their pictures with them. These banners include division/conference championships, the 2006 Stanley Cup banner and the retired jerseys of Rod Brind'Amour, Ron Francis and Glen Wesley.

The Canes Summer Fun Fest will be fans’ first chance to view available seat locations for the 2012-13 season, which will kick off in October. Fans will have the opportunity to roam PNC Arena and pick out seats for full season ticket packages and 26-game plans.

At 8:30 p.m. a Carolina Hurricanes video will be shown on the video board. Stay tuned for more details!

Fans are also invited to partake in a School Supply Charity Drive to benefit the Wake County Boys & Girls Clubs. The majority of the children served at the local clubs do not have adequate funds to start school with the supplies they need. During the Fun Fest, supplies can be brought to the Kids ‘N Community Foundation kiosk inside the East Priority Lounge. Items can include:

  • Pencils
  • Pens
  • Notebook paper
  • Spiral notebook
  • Crayons

If you bring an item off this list, you will be entered to win a 2011-2012 team-signed replica jersey!

The Kids ‘N Community Foundation will have a table set up with Canes Mystery Magnets. For a $20 donation, you can randomly choose a magnet off of the table. On the back of each magnet is a prize of an autographed puck, player photo or a replica stick. Former and current Canes players represented in the Canes Mystery Magnet Pick-Up include Tomas Kaberle, Justin Williams, Jeff Skinner, Eric Staal, Cam Ward and Alexei Ponikarovsky. Come early, as there are a limited number of magnets available. Magnets will go on sale at 5:30 p.m.
