Outlook and Wish-list for 2013

Recommended Posts

we r gonna draft a kid with less offense than a downed syndrome 5 year old and has never played a college game. woah i think its a little too soon for that, buddy.

Okay bro. I'll see you in a year when you're riding all over Noel's nuts. And then when we loose out on him, you're gonna blame Stern for fixing the draft again. Haters gonna hate. A bunch of bandwagoner in this forum.

Chuck I'm telling you don't get your hopes up on Noel.

1. He's not Anthony Davis. Davis has some guard skills and a jump shot from 17 to 3 point

range. Noel doesn't have any offensive skills.

2. Noel won't be a 5 in the pros. He is a lanky PF not a center.

3. Zeller and Austin are the better 5 prospects. Both have a actual post up game.

Noel doesn't.

C. Zeller, while unbelievably agile beneath the rim, is in no way, imo, a NBA center prospect. Zeller will be dependent on continued development in the skills department to be a legit top tier prospect.

As far as Noel.. He's going into his freshman year, we need to cool the expectations a bit. Give the kid a chance to play. If he were coming straight from HS, I would project him as a lottery bubble player. Kid has very little skill right now. Great raw ability on the defensive end though. A lot of promise for him as a prospect on that end of the floor. But again, he isn't some sure fire pick where he is now.

Austin, who I like, is in the same mold as Noel. They have center potential, but that really about sums up his game. Potential.

I like all three prospects and would be happy to add any of them, but I'd be just as happy, if not more happy to add James Michael McAdoo, who is another prospect oozing with potential.

Shabazz Muhammad is about the truest prospect IMO. He is ready to play in the league now.

Personally, I think we should approach our C problem through free agency. FA centers that have been in the league awhile have developed more physically. Imagine what Dwight Howard is going to do with that twig Anthony Davis. The idea of developing a young team doesn't mean you have to replace every position on the floor with a lottery pick, that take's way to long. By 2013 we need to put ourselves in position to sneak into the playoffs. We're not going do that with a twig center since it's such a physical position. (It has taken Roy Hibbert several years to develop.). It's possible that we don't even need to overpay one guy. Maybe we should just invest in a solid, physical rotation, then we can draft a guy to develop over several years.

We're doing the right thing by drafting young players that play the positions that rely on quickness, there's more immediate effectiveness there.

As far as 2013, it really depends on the progress of MKG, If he can show flashes, and the ability to score then we build around him. If he struggles then we need to make the proper adjustments regarding FA and the draft.

obviously, we'll have a top 3 pick, and will need to pick the best player available.

I hope it's not a center. Centers aren't winning championships (Dirk is a forward). I hope we

get a lightning rod player, not matter the position. We've got a team full of pieces, and we're

still waiting on a star.

Tyson Chandler was the center and without him Dallas doesn't win. And without Gasol or Bynum the Lakers don't win.

Then what about the Celtics they only won with Perkins they lost when he got hurt. More teams with Centers have won championships then teams without the last 20 years.

Every team has a center, but Chandler, Bynum and Perkins aren't the reason their teams won a championship.

The reason is a star caliber player....Dirk, Kobe, Garnett. Howard is the best center in the league, and Orlando is not a factor.

I know what you're saying, but I'd rather see us get the best player, and I hope it's not a center. We can find someone to fill

the position of center, but you can't find someone to be Dirk, Kobe, or Garnett.

Yup that's very true also. It's hard for Orlando to win even though they have the best center in the league. I think trying to say that you need to have a big man to win a championship is incorrect.

In today's NBA, you need a star caliber scorer. Someone who can score in any form, either from a jumper or driving to the basket.

My only reason to say that we should take Noel or Zeller is that, the center position is our weakest position on the team right now. And by drafting one of them, it would help solidify our roster a bunch. But I'm not counting out Shabazz Muhammad. Shabazz will be a franchise player in this league to come. He will def be a KD, James, Kobe type of player. The face of the franchise.

For MacAdoo, it's still a distance until anyone really think he's deserve to be a top 3-4 prospect. He has a ton of potential and is physically gifted but has shown little. If his performance this up coming season rises, he could be the guy for us, and we could play Bismack at C. But well see.

Right now I got Noel, Shabazz, then Zeller going into next year.

That's Bullshit. Without Chandler Defense Dallas doesn't win plain and simple.

Just because the center are not the focus of their teams offense like (Ewing, Hakeem, Robinson) doesn't mean they didn't play a big part in winning teams. Chandler gave Dallas something they didn't have DEFENSE. Perkins inside allowed KG to roam outside and help him on the Boards and defense. When he got hurt they lost to the Lakers.

Without Gasol Kobe wouldn't have won his Championships after Shaq left.

People act like this Miami team has been winning for years without a center. No this was 1 year where that happen and you need to have a Lebron Bosh and D Wade like combination for that to work. Only 1 team has that.

D Wade doesn't win his 1st Championship without Shaq.

I keep hearing that we could end up with a second 1st round pick in 2013 (Chicago?). Can someone explain to me how that work and how and when we would get the other 1st from Detroit with the Ben Gordon's trade???????

Please answer my questions, but with that said if we end up with two high 1st round picks in 2013, I want us to take SG Shabazz Muhammad and PG Myck Kabongo. I love Noel and Zeller but I think Shabazz will become that cant miss player in the draft and will star from day 1 like a KD or Lebron. If we do end up with that no.1 pick next year and Noel or Zeller do live up to the hype, Id weigh in the option of trading it to where we could still land Shabazz and add a PG like Kabongo, if we doesnt have a second 1st rd where we can be within reach to grab Kabongo.

With news of us in trade talk of adding Kris Humphries through the Dhoward trade, Im all up for it. Would love to see Humphries and Biyombo play together for our front court. Id also like to see if we could lure Jamison here to lead this team for the future.

Here's my new 2013 wish list:

PG: Kemba / Kabongo

SG: Shabazz / Gordon / Hendo

SF: Kidd-Gilchrist / Taylor

PF: Humphries / Jamison

C: Biyombo / Mullens
