KC Joyner: Cam 3rd Best Player Under 25

Again, I don't see that as help for Cam. He (Cam) wasn't anymore prepared for defenses than they were for him. If anything, I'd say that defenses had an advantgage because Cam was facing NFL defenses for the 1st time.

All I know for sure is that if you asked 32 GM's who they would rather have on their team right now, none would pick McCoy over Cam.

Trying to compare cross-position is almost impossible due to the value of QB's.

well...that kind of depends on who they have as their QB.

i'm pretty sure that the packers, Saints*, giants, broncos, patriots, and a couple other teams would probably go with an RB that talented in lieu of what they've got there.

For Razor, consider this...let's say you are the GM of one of those teams you listed. You may not need a QB, but you could move Cam in the offseason for two or three 1st round picks plus some filler picks and players.

I stand by my statement that every single one of them would take Cam.

i wouldn't have had cam in the first place. wouldn't have made sense to get him. if i was happy with my stud QB then as good as i thought cam was, i would rather have my missing piece.

every single one wouldn't do it nor would they have put themselves in that situation. one or two might depending on the situation w/ their QB but to throw out a blanket "every GM" would do want him more just isn't accurate.

I'll put it this way...

Let's hope the lockout helped out the offenses more than the defenses last year, because I'd like to think that our defense was somewhat unprepared rather than just being that bad.

Yes, I know we had a bunch of injuries, but I've never seen a defense as bad as ours was in the Panthers vs. Lions game; that was flat out atrocious.

This is what most people feel happened to our D, aside from injuries, so inexperiencedd players were forced into action. Sure they know the plays. But it was the reasoning and nuances of those plays, and how they correspond to other plays, that they missed.

The classroom. That is where we missed out the most. Every team that had a new Cord went through the same thing. The established teams did not feel this pinch. That may not explain how Cam got off to such a good start, but it explains why our D never got caught up.

Which is the main reason I feel the D will be vastly improved this year. The Classroom. And a whole year of experience working in the same system.

Just another reason to be giddy. And GOOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, for Razor, the question was Cam vs. McCoy. Any GM that would select the player with far, far lower value, because the lower valued player is better for the team this year, should be fired on the spot.

Do you doubt that Cam would have much higher value on the open market?

QBs are always worth more on the open market...not every team would be willing to pay the price or would be willing to even be interested because of their situation the way that they might for a missing piece of their puzzle.

a team would pay more, but not every team. point is, some teams would just be more interested in an RB than a QB. they would put out more money/picks/whatever for an RB that they needed rather than anything for a QB they didn't.
