NFL Piece On Stadiums

Recommended Posts

It still gets to me that when they actually "updated" the scoreboard and jumbotron a few years back, it was barely an improvement...barely noticed the difference.

That's because most of the "screen" went to permanent advertising instead of improving the fan experience. Worst yet, they took away the regular clock that gave you the actual time. wtf

A black Panther to come out during intros from the NC zoo

They tried that a few times in the 90's. Didn't work well at all. Poor cat was on a leash with a handler and very obviously did not want to be there. I don't think they ever made it out of the end zone to midfield. And nobody wants to see one in a cage. They need to get some beautiful wildlife video of a black panther surveying its domain (instead of lounging in a tree as they seem to prefer).

I seem to remember that when the stadium was first built there was a lot of talk that a roof or dome could be added at a later date. And, yes, no beer vendors was a condition for the stadium to be exempt from the Sunday blue law.

But most definitely they need to do something about parking. A deck wouldn't be very conducive to tailgating.

The Skins added their party deck because they couldn't fill the seats in that crap house of a stadium. So they took out 20,000 seats in the name of a party deck.

very true. but whatever the reason, i think it's a good idea. the way they went about it isn't ideal (it's nosebleeds and kind of isolated from the rest of the facilities], but you can buy redskins season tickets now for under $300 if you're willing to stand. Especially for young adults, this is a great idea; if you want to go to every game but can't afford a cluster of PSLs and seats (cause who wants to buy ONE seat and go alone all year?), you buy standing room only and watch from the party deck. This enables you to watch the game with whichever friends are in attendance rather than dropping the thousands it'd take to have enough seats for you and a buddy/family member or two.

How about letting me beat the crap out of opposing fans without getting my PSLs revoked?

What concerns me is what they'll do to current PSL owners if they upgrade or build a new stadium. I love my seats and I will be very unhappy if I lose that location or have to shell out more (probably much more) money for new PSLs.

We probably have another 20 years before a new stadium is in the works. They would have to honor your current PSLs in any Remodel situation. They would get their money back by raising the price of your seat. Logistically it would be very difficult to build a totally new stadium. The team would need some serious capital and a great piece of land. I don't think you could build a "bigger, better" stadium on the current footprint and if you did the Panthers would be homeless for a season or more.
