Scouting assistant with the New England Patriots...

Former NFL quarterback Chris Simms will hold the title of scouting assistant, although like Cargile, Simms had been assisting the coaching staff during spring practices.

What exactly does a "scouting assistant" do? Why, they assist with scouting...I guess :unsure:
