Brook Lopez question.

Maybe we will. Offseason isnt over yet. Maybe we have other plans like sucking so that we can get another top 3 pick and then start being aggressive in free agency.

We could still have a top 3 pick with Lopez because we are still a very young team. But atleast with Brook you have a legit low post scorer to go with Bismack's Defense.

I like Brook Lopez. He's a legit 7 footer for all those people whos complaining about wanting a traditional big man. What's up with people not liking Lopez, but is all over wanting to sign a guy like Hawes?

Lopez could be a added piece with our young guys right now to build for the future.

We could still more than likely be drafting in the top four next year with Lopez on this team. Just look at the Nets last year having Lopez and DWill and still end up with the 6th pick this year (Portland's).

Sure we may not get a chance to take a Noel or Zeller, but they're still guys like McAdoo and Shabazz for us to look at. Lopez will be better than Noel or Zeller next year anyway.

If we do think that we may end up with 2 first round picks next year, I still wouldnt mind offering the lower pick to see if the Nets would make a trade sending us Lopez.

You wouldn't get Lopez though, Lopez and Brooks would be the main pieces Orlando would want in the trade. All the facilitating team would get is a pick or two, which really wont help when their at the end of the first round....

That may have been true last year or earlier this offseason, but right now neither the Nets nor the Magic have any sort of leverage. Outside of the Lakers offering Bynum (which the Magic would accept in a heartbeat), Orlando doesnt have any good offers on the table, and the Nets have even less leverage since they added all those salaries.

So explain to me why the Magic would give one of the only two worthwhile assets in the trade to the Bobcats....they would just say no deal and send him to L.A. straight up for Bynum....

I just said that if the Lakers offer Bynum, Howard is gonna be in LA. That would be by far their best offer, but the Lakers haven't made it yet.

And the Magic would do it because they want to shed salaries, gut the team, and rebuild. Lopez and Marshon arent going to just come in and replace Dwight, might as well take the opportunity to shed some of their terrible contracts. Did you know Orlando is paying Gilbert Arenas $43 million over the next 2 years?

They have offered Bynum actually, Lakers want a straight D12 for Bynum swap because they know ORL had ZERO leverage in the situation. Magic are just trying to milk more out of them. So in your scenario they would just turn around and say no thanks, call up Mitch and say "D12 for Bynum done!"

I'm confused, if the Lakers have already offered Bynum then why hasnt Orlando pulled the trigger yet? That is a far, far better offer than the sh!t sandwich the Nets have been pushing

    • Fair enough. I never once said not supporting Tepper makes you a bad fan by the way. I can't stand the guy myself. You on the other hand don't like anything about the team. You can't stand the owner or the coach because his religion doesn't fall in line with how you feel it should so I'm curious why you are even a fan at this point? Hell, you like nothing about the team, why even be a fan these days?  We can go backs and forth about how many games we have been to and measure dicks if you want or but it doesn't matter. I've been to my fair share over the years. Some as a fan and some work related but I bet you have been to more due to my weekends being filled with some work I do at the collegiate level so I probably only average maybe 2-3 games per year tops. You have me beat there im sure. You are probably very correct on us not being the same in anything at all I am quite sure of that. If I'm a "mark" (as you put it) for not liking Tepper and not caring about Canales religion or his political beliefs or letting it have weight on whether or not I like the team then call me a "mark" but you're still a whiny bitch either way.  When you hate everything about leadership from their personalities to their religious beliefs all the way to who they vote for at that point why even be a fan? I can side with you judging by your beliefs that you have made apparent, if you owned and coached the team, I sure as hell would find a new one to support but as you said we are different. Enjoy Norway, it is a beautiful country. Visited last year myself and absolutely loved it.
    • The playing well part, depends on what happens going forward. It could have been a tease that will dig our hole deeper.  In the small picture of one game, probably his best game. Green Bay wasn't as great as people think it was. More like one good quarter. Followed by two games of exactly nothing.
    • Oh, it was handled horrifically.  Ego got in the way of a plan.  I'm just saying, that he actually probably stumbled into the better outcome/plan.
