NFL's Triple Threats

I get the knock on the pass catching skills of Stewy and especially DWill. Considering last year was the first year they ran anything other than a screen. Ok, slight exaggeration, but still true. Sproles and Tolbert have been catching a lot more balls, a lot more often. It is no wonder they seem to be more prolific.

I plan on seeing a marked improvement in both DWill and Stewy this year. They both have that drive and determination to make this happen. Which if it goes as planned. We don't need no stinkin Sproles. Our three backs very well could put up some amazing numbers this year.

Our running game could put up some big numbers.....no one outside of Cam is likely to standout individually.

Given we were still installing our offense through week 8 last year and this year's offense will be more complicated given the time everyone has had to work in the system, I don't think you can make a lot of conclusions about exactly how it going to go this year or who will be the best receivers between guys like Stewart and Tolbert for example, based on last year. I fully expect this offense to surpass last year's offense although I don't have an idea about exactly how everything will fall out.

not really a knock on either of their pass catching skills. i think they're good. tolbert is just better in that capacity, imo.

I think it is more pass protection. Williams just isn't good at that.... limits his ability to be on the field to catch those checkdowns.

I was going to respond. Then I remembered, around here, we don't feed the strays, so I said nevermind. But ultimately, and obviously, I broke down.

If we have a top 5 O, it will be almost impossible for everyone to remain anonymous. So I guess I will need your definition of standout, to know whether you stand a chance of being correct, or jag.

As for that running game comment? Is that in addition to what I have stated? Or a counterpoint to what I suggest? See, it is the way you form your statements that confuse me. Were you just being glib? Or making an actual contribution? Sometimes it is dificult to distinguish with you.

If DWill and Stewy both average over 5ypc again this year I would call that outstanding. If Smitty is close to 1500 yds and 7+ TDs, I would call that outstanding. If Lafell picks up half of Nana's catches, he could wind up with over 60, which could get him close to 1000yds. That would be outstanding. So I guess what I am saying is, we would have to pretty much suck for nobody to have a great year but Cam?

You sir are a giddy hater. Please keep your distance. And GOOOOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I guess I could have found a better word. Maybe lack of respect is a better way of putting it. I just happen to think it was more from lack of experience than anything else. Something they can work on this off-season, and come back with renewed capabilities.

They have been asked to block throughout their careers, and I believe DWill is better than precieved around here, but catching the ball was for those 3-long screens, not as an intergal part of the O. I think they both know they have to improve in this area if they want to be on the field, and they both will. Although, it looks like Stew has the edge as a reciever right now. I trust both will be very reliable this year. Better than expected IMO.

Just a thought. And GOOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Illuminati.

seriously though... at #8

jason witten?? there's a new breed of TEs now-a-days and he is no longer a top 3 TE. i'll give him the nod over greg olsen

dez bryant???????????????????? the receiver that many would see as a bust. light-years behind steve smith

DEMARCO MURRAY??????? he had 1/2 of a good season. not nearly as good as d-will/j-stew/m-tolb

We have 3 good RBs.....they will all split reps and Cam will take his chunk. We also aren't a ground and pound team.

So like I said, we could have a great rushing attack (best in the NFL) but it will be tough for a RB to standout INDIVIDUALLY in the scenario. 600 rushing yards and 6 TDs isn't standing out. Cam is likely the only part of our ground attack that will recieve individual attention (as was the case LAST season).

How you interpreted that post as "hating" is mind boggling. You are choosing to see negativity in it when none exists

It was the brevity of your post that gave me pause. I did not know whether you were argeeing, contradicting, or just being glib. I did have limited options from which to choose, just happened to choose wrong. Oops. You do have a habit of being on the negative side. I may have jumped to the wrong conclusion, but I did have limited information from which to work.

Look at it this way. If the O gets to play like they want, and the D allows that to happen, there may be enough yards, and TDs, to go around. If DWill and Stew can get their 140-150 carries, they both should be at or near last years numbers of 800+ and almost 800 respectfully. Which is very good. It is the TDs that they lack. And you just never know with those puppies. They come in bunches and from all different directions. Under normal circimstances, our RBs have the opportunity to shine. Why is that not enough?

Whereas, if the D does not improve, we may be throwing the ball more than we would like. Which would limit the amount of carries the RBs would recieve. So it would be harder for someone to stand out under those circumstances. Unless you want to throw a WR into the equation? Cuz someont has to pick up Nanas 37ish receptions.

Who knows? Records may fall. For or against us. I do know it is going to be a jolly good time watching this all unfold.

I did read the article, but I still would take at least J-Stew over Tolbert. J-Stew flashed some great potential as a receiver in Chud's offense (47 rec, 413 yds (8.8 YPC), 1 TD compared with Tolbert's 54 rec, 433 yds (8.0 YPC), 2 TDs, pretty much even) and is much more of a threat on the ground than Tolbert.

watching games from last season i can see why we signed tolbert. Watching Stewart take handoffs from the FB position is ugly. Tolbert is more explosive in short yardage. I've said this time and time again but Stewart needs to build up some steam.
