Wrightsville Beach :: One Of The World's Best Surfing Towns

According to National Geographic, Wrightsville Beach, NC is one of the top 20 surfing towns in the entire world. Awesome.

Best I ever had was at Topsail Beach back during that red tide stuff. Waves were incredible.'

New Smynra Beach inlet and Ponce inlet...my playground for half my life. Always a wave but you better mind your manners kook

New Smyrna and Sebastion's had crazy aggressive locals when I used to road trip down there. Decent waves though. Never been to wrightsville, I'll have to check it out.

oceanic restaurant has the best break, but is always the most crowded surfing spot.

I spent many a morning floating out past the end of Crystal Pier. Nothing better. Then in 9th grade I started growing into an offensive lineman and surfing, sailing, and body boarding went away. I started to look like a killer whale in my wet suit.

I need go surfing now that I've lived at the coast for a few years. I've never gone. After living most of my life in and around ski resorts I miss being able to do a board sport.

surfing is the hardest board sport I've ever tried. don't be surprised if it takes you a year just to be able to stand up.

Surfing towns...not breaks.

Not a ton of places with cheap parking, good waves, great food, college town, tons of bars, and is really safe to boot.

Not just about the wave.
