I must have missed the part where anyone in this thread was crucifying Cam. I never even said he WAS guilty, I said it would take a big leap of faith to think if his dad was soliciting him for money he would have zero knowledge of it. Please tell me where in that statement I'm accusing Cam of being guilty.....

i was pointing out those who seem to be saying that, regardless of the lack of evidence to the point of a lengthy investigation by both the NCAA AND the FBI being shut down, cam most likely did at least know that his dad did something wrong when there is no proof and a massive lack of evidence that ANYTHING HAPPENED AT ALL.

guys are saying..."you're naive if you think that nothing happened and that cam didn't know about it. it's totally cool with us that he did it because everyone does it corrupt NCAA yada yada yada..." the problem is that you/they are saying that he and his dad did something in spite of the fact that the investigation stopped because there wasn't enough evidence to continue it.

people say that just because there wasn't enough evidence doesn't mean something didn't happen. true. but just because there was a bit of smoke and a lot of accusations doesn't mean that something happened. the ones with tons of money and lots of resources out to catch the boogey man if there was one said there wasn't anything there.

why people keep on saying that he did it in spite of the facts surrounding the multiple investigations are the only ones being naive and blind. they are the only ones with fingers in there ears who aren't listening. they are the only blind ones in this discussion. and it isn't fair to the innocent parties in this discussion...cam and his dad. and i can call them innocent because the system said that they were.

Fwiw, I got to hear a NCAA compliance administrator for one of the ACC schools talk about it. His opinion was that the schools themselves mostly do a good job, but its nearly impossible to police all the boosters.

It's rampant in major D1 college sports. Hell, I know some D3 guys that have gotten some kickbacks. I personally held onto a buddy's steroids because his room was getting raided by the cops (roommate was slingin').

Get off your high horses and accept it for what it is. Illegal benefits are common place in college sports and performance enhancing drugs are a way of life in high level athletics. Hell, not even high level. At least a quarter of my HS football team was on the juice and most of those guys had no hope of playing beyond the HS level.
