It isn't naive at all. Why do you think every covert operation or agency in the world uses a need to know basis to disseminate information. So you have deniability in the event things fall apart. Why would you tell Cam you were going to get paid on a side deal by the university? So he could approve it or not?? That would be stupid. You would tell no one, have no records of it and keep it to yourself. That way you stood the least change of getting caught and if you were caught, would have no witnesses.

This.

As evidence, see: Saints*.

And every real football programs in this country has kids recieving illegal benefits.....and our Panther squad is full of those guys as well

Likely true but players are still innocent until proven guilty. We can think it happened but without evidence it is just speculation.

Dude, you highly underestimate the rampant corruption in the NCAA. We all love Cam. There's no need to stick your fingers in your ears and scream like a 3 year old to avoid hearing something you don't want to hear.

or i could just go with what the ncaa and fbi investigations showed up and admit that there was nothing to the allegations.

i think i'll go with that route because it's the truth.

it's a shame that cam is considered by some to be guilty until ....well... never. forget being proven innocent. forget that there was no legit evidence. forget that all the investigations...with the tons of man hours and money thrown at it...showed that there was nothing. you guys just think he should be guilty and it makes sense in your little world so you say that regardless of the lack of evidence and proof, he's guilty.

Hard to hold kids accountable for poo their parents do. I have lots of friends whose parents have done shady things..... the kids werent in the loop.

This is the truth.

Big time college sports is rife with corruption and illegal benefits. Beason was all of that booster's yacht, liquor, and strippers while at Miami, and ya know what... if I was in his situation I would've been too!

Trying to mindless deny these things is akin to Drew Brees constantly crying about the Saints** getting nailed for their bounty scheme. That's exactly who rayzor sounds like on this thread - Drew Brees.

I must have missed the part where anyone in this thread was crucifying Cam. I never even said he WAS guilty, I said it would take a big leap of faith to think if his dad was soliciting him for money he would have zero knowledge of it. Please tell me where in that statement I'm accusing Cam of being guilty.....

Just to be fair, the NCAA didn't do anything close to "a thorough rectal exam" on Auburn. If you want to see an example of that, google how long they lived at USC for in order to find the infractions they did....

Hate to point this out to you, but in cases where they have ACTUAL evidence, the NCAA tends to continue following leads. In cases that have no supporting evidence? They'll close those doors,

The fact that you think there is any similarity at all between the Bush/USC case and the Newton/AU case is laughable.

Explain in detail the evidence that linked USC to Lloyd Lake then....please don't say one word about Reggie's free car, it was a $13,000 impala....

Just for one, Bush's parents living in a nice, cushy, million-dollar home was pretty damning. Who paid the rent for that pad again?

And I guess ol' Lloyd and his pals constantly visiting Bush at the USC facilities just meant they were checking up on his grades and not their investment.

The house is question was three hours away in San Diego, and Reggies parents didn't even live there until his last year in school. Not saying what they did is right, but it's highly unlikely most schools would know about parents living in a house that far away. As for lake being allowed in the locker room, that's where USC was most guilty. For their compliance department to allow him in the locker room after games was inexcusable. Unfortunately though, the culture that CPC promoted at USC was a big party, and the Hollywood scene. There were plenty of celebrities and high profile figures in the USC facilities all the time, which is something that Kiffin has really decreased. Still, being that there was no evidence of actual money changing hands in the locker room I'm not sure how that's relevent to linking USC to Lake providing illegal benefits for Reggie, or the school allowing it to happen knowingly....

I don't deny they didn't know, because in all honestly they probably did. But honestly if the Auburn "pay for play" did happen it's ridiculous that you would suggest the USC infractions were more agregious. How could a school actually paying for a player be less severe then a player receiving benefits from a rogue agent? That my friend, is beyond laughable....
