charles barkley says cam got paid at auburn

The whole issue was whether his father got paid by Auburn in order for his son to get signed there. The only issue with Cam was whether or not he knew about his father's supposed deal. Unless I am way off base, there has never been any issue about Cam getting paid at all. Am I missing something or not???

I think it's safe to assume that if his father got 180K for his sons signature not only did Cam know about it, but he also got some of the money. But like most of us have said....

A. He's in the NFL now

B. He's the franchise QB for our Panthers

So honestly who the fug cares....and this is coming from a USC fan who is still angry and bitter at the NCAA.....

Actually none of that is safe to say. Again I claim no expertise but what I remember about that money was that his father was going to use the money to go to the church for which he is a pastor. And knowing what the rules are about recruiting violations I would think that his father would have purposely left him totally out of the situation so in case things happened as they are alledged to have happened. Cam would have total deniability.

So like I have said:

1. None of this has been proven at all.

2. In this country you are innocent until proven guilty.

And if it doesn't matter why was this brought up at all and why does it keep going on????

I'm saying it shouldn't matter, and it shouldn't be brought up. The NCAA did their "investigation" and found nothing so it's over, or at least it should be. That said, it's a huge leap of faith to say Cam didn't know anything if his dad did in-fact get paid. Again, he's our QB now so it means nothing whether he got paid or not. Has nothing to do with his ability, and his pro performance.....

So you say it doesn't matter and then go on about it as if it does. Like you said, nothing was found and no evidence was uncovered to show he knew anything. So it is a total departure of logic to say he likely knew what was going on. I agree it doesn't matter but to assume he knew something when nothing backs that up is an unsupported assumption at best. I don't care whether he did it or not, I am just pointing your conversation is totally illogical.

How am I going on about it like it does? All I said was it would be a great leap of faith to believe he had no knowledge of it. As for no evidence being uncovered....they didn't really spend much time looking at Cam, or anyone in the Auburn program....

Are you really that limited that you can't see that assuming that he must have knowledge of the situation when there has been no evidence of that at all is the leap of faith or leap of logic not the other way around????

Are you really that limited to think that a kid wouldn't know his father was soliciting his signature on a LOI for 180K???

Again where is the evidence that happened?? There isn't any. You are totally making up the evidence and the circumstances to fit your argument. And yeah if I were doing what he did I totally wouldn't tell my son knowing that as long as he had no knowledge then he wouldn't be in trouble. So if that makes me limited, then guilty as charged. Instead it was brilliant. It would have totally protected Cam even if it happened.

Of course there is no evidence, its not like the NCAA has been listening in to conversations between Cam and his father. They could talk all day about all this money they were getting, but as long as the father handles all the money and the contacts there is no evidence linking Cam to any of it.

Its a bit naive to think Cam didnt know anything about it. Of course I dont give a poo if he took the money, he deserved it. Probably deserved more to be honest
