Whistle Blower Identified in Vilma Case

Kinda misleading to say he's been "identified" in this case. "Accused" would be more accurate.

Vilma is following the old "play the victim" strategy to the letter.

I went back to grab the quote that says he was the guy to prove my post but youre right it never says that he is actually the guy. Just Vilma grandstanding and throwing accusations at another former dirtbag Saints* employee. Good eye sir.

the only "victims" are the ones that the bounties were on.

vilma is no victim. vilma and the other parties the league found guilty are in the wrong and their lucky that they didn't get arrested, imo. i wouldn't be surprised if there was a suit against the guilty parties at some point. in fact, they should be expecting it.

But what about the good reputation of Drew Brees? Isn't he a victim in all thi...okay I can't do it

For anyone and everyone who even remotely considers that Goodell may be bluffing in this case, please tell me WHY? WHY in the high holy hell would he do that? What possible reason would he have to fabricate some story and then suspend players? What in the fug would be his motivation to do this?

The reason is because Goodell rushed to judgment based on unsubstantiated evidence and now the entire thing is blowing up. This entire mess is over “pay for performance” pools which every team in the league has been doing for many many years. If you don’t believe that you are foolish. Below are just brief examples of how ridiculous some of the NFL’s actions have been:

- Misrepresented Anthony Hargrove’s statement saying he admitted there was a bounty when in fact he never did

- Said he had 50,000 pages of documents yet only came up with a handful to show and many of those have proven to be altered.

- Accused Joe Vitt of participating in a “Bounty” which Vitt aggressively denied and then Goodell backtracked

- Stated that Scott Fujita participated in a bounty program with the Saints* in 2010 when in fact he played for the Browns that year

- Accused Hargrove of making a statement during a game on video that now is proving to be untrue

- Claimed he had handwritten evidence of journals and then shows the so called evidence retyped

- Used statements from so called witnesses that have sense recanted their statements and are showing to be totally unreliable

It is backfiring on Goodell and the truth will soon come out. All suspensions will be overturned

Total BS. All you are doing is buying the crap the player's lawyer's are spitting out as fact without realizing they are just trying to spin the facts to favor their clients. Of course they are going to grasping at straws in an attempt to discredit the NFL investigation.

There are 50,000 pages of investigation but the two or three thousand which have been released were done so specifically to show Vilma's involvement. Goodell doesn't owe Vilma's lawyers all 50, 000 pages especially when Vilma has sued him and doing a fishing expedition looking for anything to use.

Witness testimony is rarely used as definitive evidence given it is most easily countered and often fraught with inaccuracies based on faulty memories from years ago. It will be corroborated with a lot more like emails. memos, videos and other evidence which is hard to refute. Acting as if a few statements which are refuted is proof that the NFl had no evidence is naive at best.

You are doing what the lawyers will obviously attempt to do. Trying to refute reams of evidence by taking a few pieces of evidence and saying that since these small bits are inaccurate then you have to disregard the other boatloads of evidence out there. With a jury trial it sometimes works but if a judge decides it they will see through those amateurish attempts just like I did.

What you seems to overlook so cavalierly is that this investigation was not hastily done but completed over years and that much of the issue at hand is the lying and covering up. The idea that there was no bounty is purely ridiculous to anyone outside of the bayou and the idea that these 4 players were picked out unfairly and everyone else was let go is also naive. Goodell could have easily not suspended any players and just let it go with the team and coaches. These 4 were picked because the evidence was egregious and damning. In other cases where players were likely guilty but no evidence was conclusive they were not suspended.

What will shown is that NFl did their due diligence and the suspensions will be upheld. It won't stop ignorant fans like you talking conspiracy theories then about the corrupt legal system.

HAHA you have proved my on point "There are 50,000 pages of investigation but the two or three thousand which have been released were done so specifically to show Vilma's involvement." what piece of evidence has shown Vilma's involvement. Please show me one just one!

Admit it, you are one of the ones that jumped the gun as well. The entire case was based on evidence that is not reliable. "The idea that there was no bounty is purely ridiculous" Really, just waiting for someone to show some evidence.

What so many Saint fans don't seem to be smart enough to get...

Non-contractual "pay for performance" is against the league rules too. It doesn't have to be "pay to injure" to be a violation, and thus deserving of punishment.

Really, you really just said that? Now the story changes and everyone is backing off the bounty claims. So players should be suspended for many games for contributing to a pay for performance pool? OK suspend every player in the league then.

Actually nothing's changed, except for those with delusions (i.e. Saints* fans). The rest of the country is solidly in support of the NFL.

As to the Saints*, they're still guilty. The coaches are still suspended. Vilma's still a whiny little baby. It's still unlikely Goodell lessens their punishment on appeal, and the lawsuits are still largely a bluff because these guys know if they have to answer questions under oath they're going to be screwed.

There is a significant difference between the two.

The rest of the country is solidly in support of the NFL.

I don't see that at all. I think many unbiased people are really starting to be suspicious of the way the NFL has done this. I know most people here truly want to see bad things happening to a rival team but I personally can't suspend my common sense and judgement and pretend it's only delusional Saint fans who find something not right about the investigation and process. It all just seems fishy regardless of what team I pull for.

As far as the league rules go, it doesn't really matter. They don't have to prove anyone was injured. But seriously, anyone who can listen to Gregg Williams talk about how a player "becomes human after you take out the ACL" and think they weren't coached to try and injure opponents is really reaching.

Beyond that, the vast majority of people outside the Saints** fanbase either side with the league or just don't give a rip. To think they're innocent at this point requires some major suspension of disbelief.

If you wanna be contrarian for the heck of it, go ahead, but there's not much to stand on.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The franchise is full of pill popping, eavesdropping liars. That's why they are being punished. It's the same reason my son can't play his PS3 this week. It's a harmless toy, but I told him to turn it off. He didn't listen. He lost his privilege. Punishment 101, suck it Saints* troll.

Yea you are right. Greg Williams talking like an idiot proves that Vilma paid $10k Fujita and others did the same. Not sure why I didn't realize that.
