Predict the Panthers record - game by game version

Recommended Posts

Week 1 Sun, Sept. 13 vs. Philadelphia Eagles 1 p.m. W

I think we win our home opener

Week 2 Sun, Sept. 20 at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m. L

Last seasons trend continues with Atlanta we lose on road win at home.

Week 3 Mon, Sept. 28 at Dallas Cowboys 8:30 p.m. L

I don't think we lose this game because Dallas is better then us, but the first MNF game in the new Cowboys Stadium, yeah we are so gonna get a fair game called in this one.:(

4 Bye

Week 5 Sun, Oct. 11 vs. Washington Redskins 1 p.m. W

The Redskins IMO are just not good enough to beat us, and the Panthers will be on a mission after a rough start

Week 6 Sun, Oct. 18 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m. W

and neither are the Bucs this year, I see them as last Place in the NFCS

Week 7 Sun, Oct. 25 vs. Buffalo Bills 4:05 p.m. W

again not good enough, even with TO, TO isn't what he used to be, so yeah We win.

Week 8 Sun, Nov. 1 at Arizona Cardinals 4:15 p.m. W

If there is one place where I have confidence in Fox it's a revenge game, and he's been excellent in them so yeah we win

Week 9 Sun, Nov. 8 at New Orleans Saints 4:05 p.m. L

I really actually don't know about this one, the Saint would have been blown out in both games last year if it wasn't for Fox pulling starters way too early in the second game, but I don't think we can go threw the season only loosing one game to the Falcons and sweeping everyone else, so I say we loosing in N.O.

Week 10 Sun, Nov. 15 vs. Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m. W

revenge game for earlier game in the season against a division Rival we win

Week 11 Thu, Nov. 19 vs. Miami Dolphins 8:20 p.m. W

Just not good enough to beat us IMO, I know they are one of the few teams we haven't beaten but I think this ends this year

Week 12 Sun, Nov. 29 at New York Jets 1 p.m. W

good defense, and decent running game could make then tougher then expected but I still see us winning this one.

Week 13 Sun, Dec. 6 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1 p.m. W

Can I hear a sweep????

Week 14 Sun, Dec. 13 at New England Patriots 1 p.m. L

I think we lose to the Patriots but I don't know

Week 15 Sun, Dec. 20 vs. Minnesota Vikings 8:20 p.m. W

revenge game again. they have a great run stopping defense and a good running game which could make then a Tough out but again the revenge game factor with Fox has always been pretty good for W's

Week 16 Sun, Dec. 27 at New York Giants 1 p.m. W

another week and another revenge game we win

Week 17 Sun, Jan. 3 vs. New Orleans Saints 1 p.m. W

and for the final week we win yet another revenge game.

Final prediction of 12-4, every year you are going to lose games we should win and win games we should lose, so how spot on this is remains to be seen.

I do think the Panthers and Falcons will both snap they're long streaks without back 2 back winning seasons this year, the other two teams in the south just aren't as good yet.

Some food for thought, Atlanta did gut the they're defense and and could be pretty soft up the center which for Carolina should be music to they're ears, and the Saints may have the same issue with again being soft up the center on Defense.

On the other hand...how different is the team than 2007?

No lions on the schedule this year!

there is being pessimistic and then there's being stupid, guess which one you fall under, and here's a hint it's not the former.

There are no automatic wins or losses in the NFL but thinking that the 2nd place team in the NFC that was one gust of wind away from being the first place team in the NFC last year is going to some how just barely reach .500 the following season is being a little wishful in the wrong way for a team you claim to root for.

NFCS (4-2)

split with atlanta (win at home)

split with saints (win at home)

sweep bucs

NFCE (2-2)

eagles- win (reclaim this house)

cowboys- win (kick them when their down on MNF much like we did the saints a couple years ago)

redskins- loss (coming back from a bye we don't usually do well)

giants- lose (beat them in the playoffs, though)

AFCE (3-1)

bills- win (it's the bills)

dolphins- win (at home i like our chances. in miami, not so much)

jets- win (sanchez is not matt ryan)

pats- lose (they are just going to be on a tear)

vikes- lose (much depends on the QB situation, though)

cards- win (revenge game)

overall 10-6

I agree with all of this, though I think the Jets could beat us and we could beat the Vikings.

Ah name calling. Good for you

I am looking for wagers on the record this year. Anyone know if odds are out on the over under for the season. If the over under is like 11 I would put a ton of money on the under!

Did I really call you a name? I said you were being stupid and were being wishful in your thought that we would go 8-8, name calling would be You are Stupid or something to that effect, if you read my post again you can see that there wasn't any name calling going on at all.

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
