Coaches Q&A on NFL.com

Recommended Posts

I've compared him to Steve young both in skill and smarts. RG3 seems like a highly intelligent individual along with his world class athleticism. Say what you will about Shanny but he's never screwed up a quarterback.

I can see the skillset comparison to Young b/c they're both playmakers.

But, I think Griff has a bigger arm but Young is a better runner.

As far as smarts goes who knows? They both seem like smart guys.

But, football isn't rocket science look at Terry Bradshaw etc.

Its not Mike I'm worried about its the other one.

btw-i have some sources I trust and never heard of any legit interest in Weeden, in fact heard the opposite following the Senior Bowl

This year was all about Luck or Griffin.

Last year was Locker and Dalton

Kyle? He a good young coach. He worked with Schaub down in Houston but lets be real, Mike is in charge. He's not going to let his son or anyone else damage his investment.

Same could be said for chewie or Cloey or whatever his name is...Kuechly.

YOU are making claims that this kid is going to be a badass and that Shanny will nurture that. I havent made one single claim about any one of the Panthers players. I could give a fug what you say about the new kid we got because, surprise, Im not an idiot who annoints players before they get on the pro field.

Your argument doesnt become more correct when you misdirect your words into some sort of bullshit contest to see who is the most right. This is not a contest. You are making claims and I am explaining to you why youre an idiot for doing so.

Kyle is a work in progress; sure he had success in Houston but that offense hasn't missed a beat without him.

Its no mistake that Houston pass/run ratio has balanced itself out in Kyle's absence.

And of course Mike is in charge but he's not the playcaller, Kyle is the playcaller and therefore its Kyle's offense.

Mike Shanahan (like most HC that don't call plays) has always given his playcallers autonomy otherwise why have the OC call plays?

And while they run the same system Kyle and Mike have completely different coaching philosophies.

Mike Shanahan is a balanced to run focused playcaller.

Kyle Shanahan is a pass heavy, passing game focused playcaller.

Mike has actually used option concepts in his offenses before, Kyle has not.

Mike has made mention of using option concepts during this offseason, Kyle has not.

Hopefully Kyle will be up to the task, but right now hope is all we got.

Grits, you're such an obvious koolaid drinking homer for RG3. You put on this facade of impartiality regarding Cam, with all those faint damns of praise, and yet can't get a audible syllable out about RG3 because he's balls deep down your throat. Just swallow already and let everyone know that you're unwilling to let the kid take a snap in the NFL before proclaiming him God's gift to the NFL.

We might all slurp on Cam around here, but he has the greatest statistical rookie season for a QB ever to back it up, not to mention two national championships before that. You've got a kid who posted average numbers for two years prior to his junior year and whose only notable feature when running is speed. I'm an RG3 fan, and think he'll do great, but I'll actually wait to see happens before I make any guarantees.

And anyone whose primary argument for a player making it in the NFL is that his coach "dDevelops" quarterbacks is a fugging idiot who should be banned from football fandom for excessive stupidity.
