Why Michael Kidd-Gilchrist fits the Bobcats system (my write-up)

Recommended Posts

I don't think Davis is that special, he wasn't that good of a guard and his biggest strengths are shot blocking and athleticism. He's severely lacking offensively, and I think his ceiling is Marcus Camby with more athleticism. He's going to be a 10 PPG, 12 RPG, 2 BPG NBA guy. That's not a star, its a defensive specialist. Hence me having both baz and Zeller rated higher and Noel rated similarly to him. Both have potential to be 20 PPG scorers in the NBA. Lastly, JMM isn't a tweener, he's got serious post skills, incredible athleticism and is 6-9 with 7-1 wingspan, both of those are similar to Davis who's peg as a NBA PF/center.

Noel however is offensively inept, but is a defensive beast coming into college. Sounds similar to Davis, lets see where he is after a season in Kentucky.

I like the top of the next draft more then this one, however after the top 5-7 it falls off dramatically. It's not as deep of a draft by any means, but I think it's got more talent up top.

Just admit you were wrong dude it's not that hard. Stop trying to save face.

Next year draft is not better then this years draft.

Neither Cody or Shabazz is seen as a Franchise Player. Davis is by most NBA analysis. Your opinion compare to them is lacking severely.

However, none of the scouts we spoke with think that Noel is cut out of the same cloth as Davis as a prospect.

How is that not clear to you?

Noel is not in the same class as Davis sorry try again.

JMM will be a good player but he is a tweener. Not built to take the pounding inside like NBA PF take but also not fast enough to play against NBA SF. I see him like Jaminson if he bulks up more and improves his jump shot he will be a good player.

But Derek Williams and Beasley are the same type player as him and they've not hit their stride yet.

Cats are going to have to be patient with him. He's going to have to develop a shot or he'll just end up being a poor mans Gerald Wallace.

I listened to his entire interview on Friday afternoon on "The Drive"....

I'm sure some of the posters here are going to take this personally or take me out of context and call me a racist, but MKG doesn't strike me as a very intelligent person. He had trouble constructing complete sentences, and when he did they were one word answers and littered with "uh" and "um"

I heard he was a great leader in the locker room but he better prepare himself for the big leagues and get his mind right.

He has a legit Speech Impediment. It has nothing to do with his intelligence. He was born with a stutter which makes it hard for him to speak in public.

He also has severe anxiety issues, and I read during the combine and predraft workouts he was being very weird.

He's no longer a member of Kentucky where the media can pick and choose who they want to talk to after Davis.

In Charlotte, whether he wants to be or not, MKG is the man and who do you think the media will be coming after when they get beat down by 20 points or lose 10 in a row?

If you look at many players with diagnosed mental disorders, the track record isn't very flattering.

He's young though so ya never know.

PS: Those issues that "make it hard for him to speak in public" better get resolved quick or he's going to be in for a very long year.

The Bobcats Brass will help him with that and Bill Walton had the same problem coming out of UCLA and now he is a TV talking Head.

People Know in the media and it's not that big of a problem. Again this has nothing to do with his character and who he is as a young man. Everything I've read says this kid is a leader on and off the court.
