Why Michael Kidd-Gilchrist fits the Bobcats system (my write-up)

Recommended Posts

Stupid to say that jump shooting was only one of many problems? Shooters need space and rhythm to shot high percentages consistently. Ben Gordon is a more proven shooter than anything in the draft anyway.

Last year, it was tough to watch no one hit anything. But it was even more embarrassing watching the overall quality of basketball the team played. The screens were weak, the cuts were slow, the rotations on defense were non existent, the team played with 0 swag.

If we had one guy that could've scored us a few more points wouldn't have changed the fact that we were possibly the worst team ever. Adding an 18 yo kid that is physically ready to compete at the highest level is a much bigger step then adding a guy who can hit a perimeter jump shot.

One of the most glowing remarks I've read about MKG since the draft is the fact that one analysts believes that MKG could've had an impact in the athletic NBA finals we just watched between mia and okc. It's not the direction the league is headed its where the league is. The sky is the limit for this kid and the effects he will have on NBA games.

What?

This was one of the strongest drafts in years. Media/fans etc. have been talking about this draft even before last years draft. We got Jeffry Taylor in the second round and OKC selected Perry. It was heavy in all phases. I have only heard that this draft is weak on this board a couple of times. Last year Jeffry Taylor not only would have been a lottery pick but he probably would have been top ten. For example Golden State would have drafted him over Klay Thompson.

The same things I heard about LeBrons jump shot, and DRose's jump shot, and Wade's jump shot is the EXACT same thing im hearing about MKG's jump shot.

I dont think he will be on any of those 3 level, but it wouldnt be a total shock if he turned into one of the best SF's in the game once he developes.

I watched him play several times last season, and there is a difference between hard workers like The Golden Calf of Bristol and hard workers like MKG. The difference is MKG has all the tools to be come a STAR.

Not to nitpick, but MK's entire offensive repitoire is bad, not just his shooting ability. He has all the physical tools and drive to be a decent offensive player.

Players like MKG need to be surrounded with offensive talent to blossom, if he's ever relied on to be a scoring threat for this team, he will struggle.. and struggle HARD.

Here's to us drafting our franchise guy next year.

Again you show you don't know poo about basketball. The kid can drive to the basket. The kid can post up. The kid is a crazy finisher. The kid runs great lanes on fast break. Not to mention all the dirty baskets he gets off of Put backs.

All that has to do with being a scorer to.

Remember that video you posted as a response to my comments about his offense earlier? Did you even watch his negatives portion of the video? You're taking too much of an offense to what you've actually shown me.

All of that high energy stuff is great, I'm glad we got the guy, but if you believe that all he needs to do is fix his jumpshot then you're sadly mistaken. He needs to retool all of his offensive moves.

Gerald Wallace could post up, Gerald Wallace could finish, Gerald Wallace was an EXCELLENT fastbreak player; however, he still couldn't dribble half the time, turned the ball over constantly when his offensive drives were stalled out because of his lack of handles, and his offense basically came down to "which body part is he going to sacrifice next, just so he can get a chance to attack the basket"

Hell, the guy had to literally sacrifice his spleen if I recall just because all he could do in his offensive repitoire was tuck his head and run to the basket.

If MKG could develop and offensive skillset like Tyreke Evans we'd have found our Lebron James for the next 10 years, but the dude will require the utmost development if he's going to be anything more than a glorified role player.

Still he's 18 and WANTS to be the best player that he can, so I can get behind that and sip the kool-aid as well.

Edit: and lol at you thinking I don't know poo about Basketball, I've played both basketball and football almost all of my life
