I don't think there is a poster on here that doesn't realize, and admitted, that it's beyond time to find a replacement for him. Some think it might be McCown, some think Moore, some think we need to draft him. But pretty much everybody thinks its time to look. Trouble is other than I described, there is not a viable option, yes, that has to be taken into consideration...

Agreed, I haven't seen anyone deny the fact that we need an eventual replacement for Delhomme.

I personally feel like we should draft one next year. This year QB class was weak even counting the top two QB's who I felt in any other draft would have been late first round picks at best. Next years QB class is much better and I think we should get one from it, round 2 or 3 would do just fine, if we have a first and RS likes someone go get him but otherwise stick to the current plan and use the first rounders on Linemen, LB, RB or Corners.

Hey 55 you unsurprised by the lack of comment on my last post like me....They left this thread, at least it seems that way. I wonder why?

Who are you referring to?

If its me, I have not made personal attacks.

I have actually been on the defense from them.

Not sure this statement is true at all. Fox uses the passing game as the big play factor. It forces the opposing defense to play honest and not stack the box. Delhomme had one of the higher ypa and ypc and a heck of a lot of completions over 20 and 40 yards, simply because our play calling does not ask for many shorter routes. The shorter passes we do are to get Smith in some space.

Fox does NOT require a game manager. Being essentially a power running team we HAVE to use the passing game as a big play factor. How many times in all of John Fox history, have you seen us methodically march down the field with the passing game? Rarely. He uses the running game to keep the clock ticking and picking up the first downs. He uses the passing game as the TD maker or the big play threat. How would a game manager fit that kind of philosophy?!

Pretty much.

Game Manager QBs are much better in West Coast systems. We've been that route, and I don't care to go down that road again.

A bit to you, mainly to Crolls. Your post was just the one I responded to with the top part of that post. I just added it in to the end of that post.
