At 285 he's probably a little undersized for our taste.

I'm pretty sure he used to be bigger, but he trimmed down to play DE as the Cards switched to 3-4. He can definitely work the middle, especially on pass downs.

It's actually hard for me to think of too many teams who don't have at least one or two of those guys. Some have more than others. IMO, the smart thing to do is to have a policy where you don't do extensions unless the guy is headed into the last year of his contract and make sure the player is aware of that when they sign. Steelers and Pats pretty much do this, some other teams too I am sure.

Yep. His listed weight used to be over 300 lbs.

if we got him and a pick, 2nd or 3rd, i might do it...especially if he bulked up a bit but i'm not impressed with the whining in public, especially with time left on the contract. wait a couple years for the contract to be over and then whine if you must.

we could use him but i would rather have peppers (even though dockett would probably be cheaper for a year or two before he started whining about this contract) and i don't think that the cards have any responsibility to trade him nor the money to bring pep in. too many reasons why this won't happen.
