I've lagged quite a bit. I'm weighing 233 now and still pretty swole to be just taking it easy. Trying to get my traps a lot bigger. Getting tired if shrugs.

I'll do like 450 lbs on shrugs. Doesn't help. No matter how slow I go. If I go light then I can't feel it either.

Decided to start doing plenty or Olympic lifts with a farmers walk mixed in. Starting to get them big now.

I am seriously conflicted on how to go about my training these days. After having waaaaaaay too much time out of the gym, I got back in last week. I still have plenty of strength, but lost most of my size and damn near all of my definition. Working out with a guy who really does eat clean and train hard (with a few supplements, but nothing crazy. Basically just preworkout and protein shakes). He follows the typical "daily lifts", whereas I grew up in the compound lift mindset from my football days. So where my body is used to doing bench, squat, deadlift, powerclean, incline, etc on MWF and hitting my isolated lifts and such on TR, it feels weird to have a chest day, a back day, a leg day, etc. I was definitely sore, and I definitely got a good pump, but I don't feel like I'm getting as strong as a workout as I would doing it like I'm used to. Maybe I just have to adjust my sets and reps (most things I do heavy weight, 3X5 or 3X8).

Any tips on how to setup my sets and reps for this so I really exhaust myself without doing 6 sets of military presses tomorrow?

Went to GNC last night and stocked up on our Protein shakes.  Good deals going on there right now. We also bought something called Lean Shakes. Anyone tried them? Honestly I'm not completely sold that protein shakes really matter let alone any of this other poo at GNC but we buy it anyways.  I'm going to drink them for breakfast because it's fast.  

 

Kind of curious if anyone else has tried it. Strawberries and cream taste pretty good, 170 cal, 24 g of protein, decent amount of fiber, vitamins, folic acid etc.

I've kinda stayed away from GNC because they seem expensive but there's nothing wrong with their stuff...

I've never tried that product though... Protein is goooooood.


How's everyone's workouts going?

I've been doing good even during the holiday...

 

I've done well working out during the holiday but as always struggling with food.  I was doing great yesterday until my husband decided he really wanted sushi and of course I have to have wine with sushi.  I need to do a better job with controlling my food and wine intake.

 

I got sick a month ago and the congestion is still lingering. When I do cardio workouts my throat gets dry and hurts so I haven't done the hour long cardio workouts much lately. I wish this stupid congestion would just end.
