Kind of a quick question to all my friends who have coaching/more experience than me. I love to powerlift (obviously) I have a dilemma. I want to compete, so I train and eat. BOOM weight gain and strength goes through the roof. But heres where my question comes into play, I have been aiming for a SOF career for a couple years now. Obviously, Huge weight gain and endurance dont mix. If you focus on one, the other will suffer. I am having a tough time writing a training plan that will properly allow myself to reach my strength goals as well as reach my Cal/ Running/ rucking goals. Im thinking that along with my periodization im going to need to just break up my training into two phases (1. Get freakin strong 2. get freakin fast) But I dont want to lose a good base for either. Ideas? tips? Something?

If you are focused on SOF, I would recommend holding off on the bulking for now. Maybe add an intense tae kwon do regimen?

SOF requires a lot from your body, but having 24 inch pythons isn't a requirement.

Do they still sell those ranger workout dvds at the px?

Saw this and it boggled my mind.

The average american man is 5'-10" 195 lbs, average american woman is 5'-4" 166 lbs

I'm bulking, weightlifting, taller than the average man, feeling bloated, and yet I'm still only about the 50th percentile for weight for my age range.

just goes to show that if you're trying at all to put the fork down every once in a while, and get off the couch once every blue moon, you're doing much better than average.

Everyone in this thread should instantly feel better about themselves.

lotsa bitching on this thread today, so I'll join.  Supposed to do a 5-miler at lunch but heavy rain coming. I hate the treadmill so I'll do core work and then go for a slow short run tomorrow, like 3-4 miles.  I'm taking a day off of work, Friday, no not for fun, but so that I can go on a 20-mile run.  20.  Freaking.  Miles.   I am definitely losing my mind.
