190 grams is a poo load of protein. Hard to do.

Eat some fiber or you're not going to poop for a week.

190 should be fine. Its on the high side, but as long as the rest of his diet follows suit, its not a dangerous level (over 2 grams per pound)

What do you guys think of creatine?  Is it something you would recommend, or just stick to protein?

Depends on your goals.  What are they?

Creatine works.  It provides a boost for muscle gains (size) and strength gains as well.

I can definitely tell a difference strength wise when I'm on it.

I am cycling off of it this week for about a month.

I really don't want to get huge or anything.  Would prefer ultimately to be ripped.

A friend of mine that has gotten huge (muscle wise) over the past year said he did it by working out 5 times a week and taking creatine and protein supplements.

I hope that's all it takes, I'll be in good shape.

Seriously, I had never really taken creative regularly prior to about the last month. I have noticed an increase in strength, not huge, but noticeable and should hopefully help me get better results. It's not going to make you huge by itself, so I would worry about that.

Creatine won't make you huge...  and you probably won't notice it much yet if you haven't been working out too long.

It's definitely an aid on those goals though.

Try some creatine monohydrate for a month or so and see what you think. Don't buy the expensive stuff, the cheapo stuff is the same.

I always end up coming off creatine after a few weeks, because the chalkiness always ends up making me gag.  And the pills/tabs are too expensive to take in the right dosage.

Try this.  http://www.walmart.com/ip/Body-Fortress-Muscle-Mass-and-Strength-Fuel-Super-Advanced-Creatine-High-Performance-3.17-lb/10322411

Cheap, doesn't taste like crap and mixes well in water.

Usually though, I get enough creatine in my pre and post workout supplements that I don't take any extra, but I used that stuff for a while late last year and could tell a difference.
