HELP!!!

Last January I really got in the gym with 2 guys in my apt complex. I bought my own place in August and stopped going to the gym until X-mas pounds got me feeling soggy this past year.. I joined a gym by my new house in January and have been going by myself ever since..

I started out at 165, then dropped to 160 (my comfortable/ideal weight)..

now i am 170 and am trying to cut out the mid-section/belly fat, love handles, etc.

My regiment consists of about 45 minute workout, Monday - Friday:

1 - core ab workout warmup - everymorning (leg lifts, crunches, side crunches)

2 - whatever day it is - a) legs,B) shoulders/tricepts, c) back/biceps, d) chest, e) cardio

3 - run/elliptical for 10-15-20 minutes

4 - shoot some hoops to cool down

any advice on cutting the belly fat and tone it up

unfortunately, belly fat is the last to go. Be patient

10s, 15s and 20s. I don't want to get huge but I like being strong. Able to do a good amount of push and pull ups.

I agree with Bronco Cat, that's not going to happen unless you really got on something. My wife worries about the same thing, she won't lift with me even though I've explained to her that she's not going to bulk up like a man will. She also says that she gains weight quickly when lifting and she's doing that weight watchers diet and has lost 19 pounds and she's really into it now, plus she just picked up the urge to start running a lot.

6 pullups is really good... most guys can't do 6 real pullups without flopping their legs like fish. 10 would be exceptional imo.

Work them to failure as psc suggested, hit some other exercises that work the lats and general back and you'll be up to 10 in no time.

How about nutrition?

That's where I struggle the most.  I'll be doing great working out but it's hard to get my act together food wise and keep it together.

For the last year I've been somewhat a vegetarian, eating meat only occasionally. I didn't miss meat. The meals actually became more interesting and fun to cook. My problem is desserts at night. I can eat fantastic all day then someone pops open a bottle of wine or the kid starts begging for brownies or cookies and it all goes down hill.

This weekend I'm going to try a recipe with Quinoa. Some how cooking vegetarian for a year and I haven't made one dish with it.
