HELP!!!

Last January I really got in the gym with 2 guys in my apt complex. I bought my own place in August and stopped going to the gym until X-mas pounds got me feeling soggy this past year.. I joined a gym by my new house in January and have been going by myself ever since..

I started out at 165, then dropped to 160 (my comfortable/ideal weight)..

now i am 170 and am trying to cut out the mid-section/belly fat, love handles, etc.

My regiment consists of about 45 minute workout, Monday - Friday:

1 - core ab workout warmup - everymorning (leg lifts, crunches, side crunches)

2 - whatever day it is - a) legs, B) shoulders/tricepts, c) back/biceps, d) chest, e) cardio

3 - run/elliptical for 10-15-20 minutes

4 - shoot some hoops to cool down

any advice on cutting the belly fat and tone it up

weighted speed rope, 30 seconds on 15 seconds off every day or other day until you fall over

What's your routine?

well to be honest with you it's not an exact routine. i'm pretty new to lifting (this is my first time starting about a month ago). i was pretty thin so thats probably why i've gained weight so rapidly, people call it newb gains. my appetite exploded when i started working out as well. it's strange, i haven't really gotten much bigger visibly, i can notice a slight size increase and more definition. i still look pretty thin so i'm thinking ~175 will be ideal.

i try to get a minimum of 8 reps per set for everything i do, with 12 reps being ideal. 3-5 sets depending on how sore i am from previous days. i do abs every day.

i think it's pretty standard, though. unfortunately i'm still not completely familiar with all the names of all the machines and lifts but i'll try and take note next time i go lol.

Yeah, lifting will definitely make you hungry for sure.

What are your goals, other than the 175 lbs mark?

That Jack3d made me so jittery... I took that poo back.

What does the Animal M Stack do?

It's basically just an amped up pack of about 12 vitamins that you take everyday. A multivitamin on steroids if you will. It also has one red pill in it that is a stimulant pill to get you going. My son was taking the stuff for a while but his back really started breaking out so he stopped.

I used to be big into the supplements and whenever I wanted to try something new I would go here to get an idea of what it would do, if it works, side effects, ect...

I've taken the GNC Vitpaks, probably somewhat similar.

If you put weight on, that might be a little more challenging... working out your legs and calves a lot I hope.

I'm trying to build my pull up count. Do you think there is a peak number from person to person? Ive halted at 6...again. Any tips to increase that? Other excercises that will help that number go up?

Go with wide grip pull ups. If you can't do many of these go with negative pull ups. You use a chair to get to the zenith of a pull up and hang as long as you can.

To lose the belly fat you have to lose body fat. Burn more calories than you consume. Figure out what your caloric needs are and eat about 500 calories less. You should drop a pound or two a week.

If you want to get stronger, train like a man. I don't mean that in a sexist way, but women stick to the machines and avoid chest lifts. Machine aren't bad, but free weights will do more for you. Free weights are closer to natural movements and enhance stabilizing muscles. The downside to free weights is that if you use improper form, you can hurt yourself. There are plenty of videos on the internet that will show you good form.

What kind of equipment is available at your gym?
