My soccer season started again after Winter break. I got up to 220lbs and now I have play against 160lbs dudes. Not fair.

you've been pretty much doing to opposite of what I've been trying to do, I've been trying to lose wieght, I'm currently down to 193 (down 24 pounds since april 1, 2014)and if I hit 190 by march 1st, I should be able to hit my goal of 180 by the 70.3 ironman at the end of may.

end of year goal for me is to get back down to 170, I'm 6'1 with a big frame so at 170 i've been told I look too thin, but I never felt better from a energy and physical condition standpoint so I'm trying to get back there.

Ok trainers, how often should I do deads? Once a week? Twice? What do y'all do? I'm sore for about 2 days after so..

Most will say to only train legs once a week depending on your particular regimen. If you go heavy, then once a week. If you go lighter, then you can up the frequency to two days a week. Just allow a solid two days between workouts and never start training if you're still sore. You've caught the bug, I guess?

I love them! The whole lower half of my body feels it for days. It's such a great workout. Squats, too. I do think I put a lot of emphasis on my lower half and need to pay attention to upper body, though.

it's not possible to squat or deadlift without your upper body, specifically your core, doing a tremendous amount of work. don't think of things in a top/bottom dichotomy.

if you're not engaging your core as tight as you can before you deadlift or squat you'll be heading to snap city.

To give you an idea of how awesome deads are, if you deadlift and press, you'll effect 97 or so percent of the musculature in your body.
