Its been a while since I posted, so here's a rant.

My gym sucks right now. There are so many people in there since the new year and they recently added new machines that completely ruined the layout. You have to walk in a big loop around the gym to not bump into people using machines.

My favorite new piece of equipment is this huge crossfit dream come true. It has to be about 16'x16' and 95% on the stuff on there, I, nor 75% of my gym will hardly ever use.

Also, my bicep pump got me a free chipotle burrito a while back, it want as good as it sounds.

I missed Tuesday and Wednesday at the gym. Just that two day break seems to have put me like 3 weeks behind. Today was squat day, but "that guy" was at the gym. You know who I'm talking about... he does a set, then has like a 40 minute rest before his next set. Then hovers over the rack and doesn't let anyone else use it.

I got tired of waiting and just skipped rope and rode a bike.

because of my crazy work schedule this week, Wednesday was my only day at the gym this week. and I guess I went a bit over zealous with my workout yesterday, because when I woke up today I could barely move. I'm hoping to feel well enough to work out before I got to go to work tomorrow, but right now it's not looking promising...

In all fairness, squats do require an extended period of rest b/n sets. But at some point you gotta get going. I'm not above asking how much longer someone is going to be. Just sucks bc there is no other quip met you can use to replicate a free squat using an Olympic bar. #GymProbs

Normally I superset Squats with something like triceps extensions where I only do one arm at a time in order to get  longer rest period between sets. At the same time, I hate idle time at the gym.

By the time I had gotten to the end of my workout, squats were all I had left, and I figured an alternate wouldn't hurt too much.

eta: my gym has 2 smith machines, but I refuse to use that contraption. there used to be room  where I could just do it in open space, but that space now taken by an assortment of incline and decline benches for whatever reason. besides, i can't power clean and jerk 225 (my usual starting weight) then lower it to do back squats. well, i might, but i'll never know because i'm not going to try it.

eta again:

overhead squats may be a nice change of pace. hmmmm....
