Not very often. I drink them if I'm too lazy to make something to eat. I get most of my protein from what I eat. Your body can only properly digest so much protein so I don't have any set times or anything like that.

Follow up question, what do your guys' meals typically look like? Do you eat the same thing everyday?

When im eating right? Oatmeal for breakfast. Lean protein for lunch with whole grain rice and some spinach then just a strawberry/spinach smoothie for dinner. I suck at eating healthy and I'm sure that's not even a good eating plan lol. I need a nutritionist.

Everyone's body is so different. What my body responds to may not work for you. So if that's what works best for you then that's what works best for you.

I work out at 530am since its the only time I can get away without it being a headache. So I have some Greek yogurt, flax cereal and banana in the morning. Lean beef, chicken or tuna with rice for late lunch/early dinner and usually something real small in between those two meals. Maybe a protein bar or like said above a shake at some point. Since I burn zero calories throughout the day after my workout is done, my meals get smaller as the day goes on (seems like yours do too). I gain weight very easily so it's important I'm careful with what I eat.

What time do you work out at? Your diet seems solid if you wanted to cut weight fast and did cardio. But I'm definitely no nutritionist ha (that's why I asked the question), I basically just stick to whatever seems to work for me. Not much of a label reader but I always check for sodium and stay far away from that.

I know I've asked this question before but we all grow tired of eating the same crap daily. I switch up things slightly but the times in which I eat each food group stay the same for the most part.

I don't need to lose weight. I'm around 185 at the moment. Ive been around 220 fat and 220 in great shape. I would like to get back to that shape but it's so much work and time. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is the biggest thing for me at this point in life I suppose

Since there is no good gyms in my area and literally maxed out everything at Planet Fitness.  What is your take on Crossfit?  It's like $160 a month but is it worth it?

What's the name of the crossfit gym? They're not all created equal. Some want to see you improve. But most just want your greenbacks.

I was looking at their facebook videos

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2970544415492&set=vb.248574306085&type=3&theater

It seems that most people have the right form - not everyone, like the guy doing the overhead squats was close to ripping his left shoulder out. what i didn't like... people setting PRs on squat with no spotters.

the coaches are an interesting lot: a former ranger sniper, a hockey player, a captain with the charlotte FD, and an exercise sports science dropout.

it may be worth a try. ask if they have punch cards so you can pay per session to see how you like it before you pay more money than you should.

Have you considered the ymca? I go to the one on Albemarle rd and really enjoy it. They have all the equipment the other gyms have and there's very few meathead types in there.
