I ran 12 miles Saturday (26 miles for the week).  It was my longest run ever and it was surprisingly easy.  I wasn't even really sore today just really tired and unmotivated to do anything other than lay on the couch.  Running a half marathon in 3 weeks and I'm actually looking forward to it and taking some time off afterwards.

So i haven't really been working out for 2 weeks due to my knee. My poor husband has to listen to me complain non stop and it's just put me in a bitchy mood in general. I thought I'd be less tired since I'm not working out but come 9:00 i'm struggling to stay awake. So apparently working out does give me more energy.

I've done a few upper body workouts and stayed sitting on the bench most of the time and I've done some ab work. I'm itching to get back. My leg feels fine 99.5% of the time. The swelling just isn't going away. I called the doctor to see whats up, hoping I can get back at it this week.

So I ran the Spartan Beast this past Saturday, probably one of the more challenging things I've done to date, I'm still very sore and tired 2 days later.

And for the record I really did run the whole damn thing, a lot of people walk it. I even ran when the obstacle included carrying something heavy. On the one where you had to drag a concrete block with a chain I was yelling like it was a dog, telling it to hurry up.

what is the spartan beast compared to tough mudder or the maniac dash or any of the others?  I get confused on which is which...

i want to run a tough mudder and a color race.  the color race is supposed to be good because the women wear next to nothing.

The spartan beast is 12+ miles with 28+ obstacles. I think ours is close to 13 especially since there was a large gap between mile marker two and my marker three that was definitely further than a mile.

I was supposed to do a color race in Wilmington this past September but we decided to do a different race instead.

I just ordered BCAA supplement cause I'm always tired as hell the day after workouts... Anyone took BCAA before? Any good?

I dont get a huge energy boost from BCAA, but it just depends on your body and tolerances. I do think they help in recovery, but I don't think it's a must have when it comes to working out. It's nice to have, but not something I'd spend a lot on. I'll stay on it for the next few months just to help with recovery along with glutamine.

I drink coffee on daily basis and still tired as hell. It also supposed to help with muscle recovery, which I really need.

Take a b12. No multi.

Go no booze m-w or thrs. Or just only drink on the wkds or very special occasions.

Cat is right about cardio. Do any of the current dvd's that do muscle confusion.

Also and this is for others. Don't focus on weight per se but rather have a goal of how often you will do something or how often you won't eat or drink something. The lifestyle will take care of itself.

You can always gain weight thru muscle gain but look fitter.

I'm taking it right now... no itching or tingly feelings.  I just lift like crazy until my muscles give up.  I'm always sore as hell after a workout.

Yeah that stuff make me itch.  I take energy and endurance and have for a little over a year. It's just enough to get me pumped up but no itching or other side effects.

Does anyone take this: creatine monohydrate?  Husband seems to be wanting to get bigger and I came across this when reading an article. If so what ya think?
