Ugh that sucks.

My brother and dad both tore their MCLs when they tore their ACLs and they were told the MCL would fix it's self over time. They would be a good source of info but since they had torn ACLs their focus was mostly their ACL.

My brother tore his acl and disintegrated the pcl and mcl he never even had surgery. Depends on how active you want to be

You're right, though I've heard of people playing on torn acls.

I love to ski, I just want to be sure I'm all good come march.

So I'm pretty sure I strained or tore my MCL.

I have a burning sensation at the inner part of my knee. Weird thing is that it really only bothers me at night and early morning. I don't know when or how I hurt it, I just woke up in the middle of the night from the burning sensation.

Any recommendations? I don't plan on going to the doctor because there is nothing they will do for an MCL injury.

yeah sounds like a strain, I got my elbow doing pull ups earlier this year, I think I might have partially tore it too because it took like 6 months to heal.

Never lost motion or felt a pop, was just sore as hell whenever I did the right exercise.

I ran 10 miles Saturday and I'm averaging 20 miles per week right now. Pounds lost = 0. Like Biscuit said I'm starving all the time and I'm having trouble sleeping at night due to hunger. I'm trying to just stay positive on the fact that my running is going well. I really only have about 10lbs to lose at this point anyway so it's not that big of a deal.

Ive hit a bit of a wall right now, I've lost weight before, went from 275-170 because of eating right and running. But went back to school 3 years ago and then a swing shift career job a year ago and got back up to 217, I've lost right about 20 pounds since April and am sitting at 197 right now, been running a bunch and started road biking. Really would like to get back down to 170 again but just can't seem to lose weight right now, this has to be the worse plateau I've ever hit :-P

I am eating with the intent of losing weight but not muscle mass because when I went from 275-170 I probably lost 30 pounds of muscle and don't want to do that this time around so I've been eating lots of protein, very limited carbs, no junk food or soda and limit calorie intake. Been told a few times this month that I look like I've lost weight. But on the scale I haven't lost a thing. Don't think I feel like I've put on any muscle either so who the hell knows what's going on.

Btw for size ref I'm 6'1 with a big frame, I actually look pretty decent right now. But just want to get down to 170 because I want to get more into further distance running and I want to do an full iron man in 18 months.

Just keep the inflammation down to help it heal correctly. RICE it and maybe look into physical therapy to help strengthen your quads.

Taking your advice. Leg is wrapped tightly with ice, it's elevated and I'm watching Mr. Douchebag Kaepersuck lose to the Rams.

Eating/Diet is absolutely my biggest issue... I like food too much and when I'm lifting I stay starving all the time...

only surround yourself with food that is healthy options.

I'm not a big diet type of person but i look at what some diets do and adapt.  the paleo diet has some great ideas.  but i also have a farm and grow my own beef so that is a big help.
