How often do you do a "cycle" of creatine? Do you feel like you keep your weight after you go off of it?

I tried creatine once for about a week but gaining weight hasn't really ever been an issue for me. Not in a good way.

I don't take the creatine for "weight gain" per se...  I can definitely tell it fills out my musculature some and I always notice an increase in strength/stamina about a week and a half or so into a cycle.  Any weight gain I have from it is pretty negligible.

This last time I was on it about 2 months... that's a tad longer than normal, it usually runs about a month and a half for me.

Right now I'm trying to do higher rep stuff and more cardio.  I kind of got caught up in doing more powerlifting stuff because quite frankly it feels pretty good to pick up 500lbs + off the ground.

I'll probably stay off of it for about a month, or however long it takes me to run out of my currently pre-workout which has no creatine, then I'll cycle back on.

I go through phases with lifting heavy and doing higher reps too. During the summer I focus more on cardio and higher reps, during the winter ill go heavier.

But yeah, I need to find something. I feel like I'm just maintaining these days. I'm pretty big on the natural part so it's tough. Maybe ill give creatine another shot. Like you said it fills out your muscles nicely. Those BCAA's I picked up awhile ago have helped with not losing my muscle while doing cardio though.

My little brother took dbol with creatine and blew up like a freaking balloon, but I'm not touching dbol.

So to help motivate me to do some more cardio, a group of five friends and me are competing amongst ourselves to complete triathalons every so often. For now, we are trying to do it every month, but the plan is to eventually do one every ten days.

run 26.2 miles

bike 116 miles

swim 2.4 miles

(or something similar - i don't remember exact numbers)

I could do all that in 10 days no problem.

First week back at the gym after 2 weeks off due to my stupid incident. Still tough since I can't use my palms. Going to have the strongest fingers north of the boarder by the time my palms heal.

Can only do certain things but I couldn't take anymore time off. Been running lots too just because it's something I can do. This break also did my body some good, I hadn't taken a break longer than 3-4 days in several years. My knee's feel better and so do some other things.

Possible tip to help your knees.

Wear inserts in your shoes to get better balance and relieve pressure on your knees and maybe wear a chopate for your knee. Its that strip device guys wear on the knee in sports. But wear it during the day to strengthen your tendons around the platella. Also maybe run on grass more than concrete. When you are in your 50's and older you will thank me. Too many guys my age are all gung ho on jogging and im thinking long term.

Thanks man, ill look into that.

Yeah, I never run on concrete. There's a soccer field behind my place that I run around if I run outside. My knees can't handle concrete. Tredmills don't seem to be all that bad because some do have a little bounce. But yeah, 26 and shitty knees isn't exactly a great sign. Maybe I just start cycling more or something too, because like you said, thinking long term I would like to be able to walk pain free at 50.
