Confused

Best weekend I've had since I started this. Ate right and even worked out both days, normally I take the weekends off. Yesterday my meals couldn't have been healthier but I get on the scale this morning and I had gained a pound.

No comprende

Gaining muscle?

I'm guessing muscle or water weight.

Oh yeah..why so?

You guys all seem happy with the time spent at the gym or working out. I have 2 gym memberships and have stepped foot in 1 of them in the last year. Since I've been home the last 4 years I've gained 10 lbs a year sitting behind a desk. Depressing.

Trust me if I can do it anyone can. It did take a couple of years of self loathing before I got off my ass though.

Doubt it but it's possible.

As long as I reach my weekly goal it's ok. Still frustrating

How often are you weighing yourself. My recommendation would be once a month. If you are doing it once or twice a week you are going to be obsessed with the number instead of getting in shape. Weight is all relative. Looking in the mirror is a better reflection of hard work.

Too much. But right now I'm trying to learn what works for my body and what doesn't. I tell my wife I've earned the right to obsess over my weight with how hard I'm working.

I couldn't agree more with this. If you are lifting weights combined with cardio your weight is going to fluctuate. If you get obsessed with the numbers you might not eat as much as you should. Your muscles won't repair themselves as well, you'll have less energy to work out etc.

It's addictive. You can have that 40 lbs gone in no time. :)

we got a fitbit aria scale on friday... it's been fun having it track weight and bodyfat for us.  Well, it tries to track bodyfat anyway.

yes, I weigh myself too often.  It's a new toy, what am I supposed to do?
