If your body can do it, I'd wait to eat. Just my opinion. How long are your workouts?

This week my doc has me limited to 30 minutes but next week I can go back to a full hour like I was doing before I re-injured my meniscus

Cardio. I'm trying to lose weight and tone. At first I wasn't eating before my workout but a couple of weeks ago I started having a protein bar. I've also tried a handful of almonds.

If I'm looking for a little fuel before cardio I will usually eat 4-5 Ritz crackers with peanut butter on them. It's definitely about what works for you, but peanut butter is a pretty awesome fuel (and I don't really even like PB)

Yeah I've seen arguments for and against it. This article says 3-5 hours after your last meal. I don't eat anything after 7pm and get up at 5:15 and workout from 6-7am. That's almost 12 hours. You think it's still ok to go on an empty stomach?

I roughly do the same thing. I just have a vector bar and a coffee as I drive to the gym. My body reacts better to coffee than most pre workout supplements (haven't tried a wide variety tho).

I prefer doing cardio on a empty stomach as well, but if I don't put anything in my stomach I start feeling a little weak during my workout. So i just have a vector bar to give me a little energy. I usually have a can of tuna and some brown rice after my workout so I know food's coming.

Never heard of T25. Will have to look into it. I would love to get back into P90X. I used to do it 6 days a week. The only issue now is a DC-Sized 1bd 1ba apartment :)

I'm definitely working on the diet though. Eating very low-carb. Running I'm avoiding. I used to run daily, and did a couple halfs, but being 6'3" I'm worried what it's doing to my knees and back, especially in the long term. I think a regular bike routine is my best bet. Anyone have a good biking program they can recommend?

Thanks for the feedback, as always Biscuit!

Do something you enjoy and something that challenges you.

I think jogging on hard surfaces has long term ill effects. Run on a field if you can.

I have noticed a lot of injuries here. Y'all need to listen to your body and rest more not less.

Im playing soccer in a few weeks again in a league. Added with cardio this is good for me.

Well I haven't been to the gym since the migraine. I had another one after work last night so I went to the ER. The didn't find anything wrong with me so they are saying it might be cluster headaches and I have an appointment with a neurologist Tuesday. This blows.

Anyone lift on the weekends at Fitness connection on South Blvd down by Tyvola? I'm looking for someone to lift with so that I am motivated to get out of my bed. Just so we don't have to change a bunch of weights around here are my stats:

(getting through joint issues in my legs so don't laugh at my dead and squat numbers)

Height: 6'1"

Bench: 315

Squat 300

Dead: 400

Seated shoulder Press: 245

Darthbiscuit can vouch for me.

Starting to see nice gains on my biceps. They're cut too which is nice. My squat is still pathetic but I'm going from the ground up now to really focus and build strength. My leg press has improved and I think part of that has come through jumping rope, constantly supporting my body weight etc..I skipped deadlifts last week. Finally got back on it yesterday. The weight felt heavier than I wanted it to.

I can now do the Ali shuffle while skipping rope which is kinda cool. Still working on the cross over.

Ok, question. I'm trying to maintain my current weight but I don't think I'm eating enough calories. I'm afraid that if I do, I'm gonna ruin what I've done. I eat a lot of lean protein, veggies etc. I can't bring myself to eat many carbs. What can I eat??

I realize this is a few weeks old now, but "lots of lean protein" is useless without carbs to break it down so the body can use it.
