Question for you guys. I've noticed I'm starting to sweat a hell of lot more than I used to when I would work out. More so now since I jump rope obviously but I was noticing it before that as well. Is that any indication of anything?

Can't wait to hit the gym tomorrow. I'm going to start incorporate dips and possibly weighted push ups to build what I consider a weak chest. Something about bench just doesn't cut it for me.

Just finished up T25 Lower Focus and Ript Circuit and Brazilian butt high and tight.  My knees are feeling so much better, not much pain during any of my workouts Friday thru today. Now the diet is on. I'm working out everyday but everyday I'm eating way too many calories, I can see my abs aren't quite as noticeable and the shorts I wanted to wear today were tighter than usual. I hate that feeling. So it's on, summer time is here, can't be worring about how I look in my bathing suit while playing with the kiddo, it distracts from all the fun to be had.

Just biked 25 and ran 4 right after. The humidity almost killed me.

Now I'm opening a beer to start drinking the rest of the day to negate all of those burned calories.

:stuff:  That's me :(

We're gonna try the "get up way too early and walk" routine this week for some extra cardio (wife's idea).

We'll see how this goes. She's gung ho now but I suspect neither of us is gonna be real thrilled when that alarm goes off...

Just turn sex into a HIIT routine.

Ok huddle family, I'm in the program now help me out.

I started working out at the Y last week. Decided to start slow since I am waaay outta shape. Walked 1/2 mile then ran 1/2 mile to warm up then shot some hoops with intermittent full court sprints. Went well for the first few days but by the end of the week I could barely walk my knees hurt so bad (I have bad knees/damaged cartilage). Nothing but water and a couple coffees in the morning. Food intake was good, averaging around 1500 calories per day of good food.

This morning I rode the stationary bike for an hour to save my knees and while my knees aren't so sore I didn't feel like it was as good a workout.

Here are my questions. Should I be eating before my 6am workout? Currently I'm not eating until I have oatmeal after I get to work at 8.

Also, what is a good routine for a beginner like me? I want to get some really effective workouts going. I don't care about bulk just want to be slim flexible and have good stamina. (Bulky muscles are no good for drumming)

Well your body needs some form of energy to get it going in the morning. Carbs are the main source of energy and eating something like oatmeal before a workout can give you a nice boost. There are plenty of people who do cardio on an empty stomach, but I wouldn't advise it, especially just starting out.

Running/treadmills are horrible for your knees, if you already have knee pain, give the elipticals a shot or do some water aerobics if you have the opportunity. You can get just as good of a cardio workout without as much impact. Build up your strength here.

Adding an omega/fish oil supplement might also help with the joint pain.

My knees aren't great, but I've alleviated a lot of snap-crackle-pop and discomfort during leg exercises by spending a few minutes on the bikes before doing anything else.  Seems to get everything lubed up in the joint.

Then I squat some heavy weight.

BTW I can barely stand up today.

I started running 3 1/2 months ago.  I wrecked my knees in the beginning so bad I could barely walk.  At one point I had no choice but to take 8 days off.  Saturday I'll be running my 4th 10k with my longest run being 8 miles.  I'm just now to the point where I'm running with little or no pain.  Just be sure to take it slow and concentrate on how long you are running not how fast.

    • Yeah it makes it difficult to get a good read on Ward. He plays a lot of hero ball, but he has to. Kind of like Howell at UNC.
    • Everyone gives them a tough fight. Their defense is trash.
    • I think it was a few days after the Bears loss I got a notification of a new press conference clip from the Panthers YouTube channel and the headline was about Diontae bloviating about losing a boat to Helene in the midst of all the devastation here to families in North Carolina. I can definitely buy that he was self absorbed and probably not the most pleasant to be around those last few weeks in particular. Anywho some people here were for some reason throwing around a 3rd round pick as return compensation and that was always a pipe dream. Most reasonable people seemed to expect a 4th or 5th at best. I think the ire now is in response to us basically taking everything else on the chin in regards to his salary and basically swapping picks just to rid ourselves of the supposed headache. All this just says Morgan never should have traded for him. He was available for a reason. I'll be interested to see how things go for him in Baltimore. Suffice to say the Ravens are very unlikely to have near as much patience with his antics as the Panthers were.
